Hey guys! Just want to make a note giving credit for my cover to Strawberry_Cream1928. She did an awesome job on it and if you ever need a cover, I recommend you to look at her work: Icy Graphics- A Graphic Shop (Open). Bonus, it's free! No explicit content please. And now, to the story.
***William blinked and looked around. He was in a damp cellar, hands tied behind his back. He began to panic and struggle against the bonds biting into his wrists. The door opened, and Jonathan walked in.
"It's useless to struggle." Jonathan said casually, "Then again, you were never one who liked restraints."
"You," William asked, "Why you?" He was surprised that his friend would ever do such a thing.
"Why? WHY? You stole the woman I loved from me. You took her heart, so that it could never be mine! You never gave a d*mn about what I felt, how it hurt to see you and her together! I was the one who saved her life, not you!"
William laughed harshly. "So this is what it's all about? You wanted Evangeline, and all you thought about was yourself. Did you ever think of her? How she might have felt? It was you who made her hate you. You save her from an unwanted marriage only to try and force a different one upon her."
"I deserved her! Not you! And now, I'm going to get my revenge."
William shivered at the coldness in Jonathan's voice. "Why? Why did it have to be over a girl?" Evangeline is her own woman, not some plunder to be fought over. Now, will you please let me go, so that I can keep my wife from worrying?" He tried to keep the tremor out of his voice.
"Never. You will get what you deserve and more," Jonathan said, unavailing, and turned and left the room.
