I thought you were dead.

Lelouch was at a loss for words. This was a rare occurrence from him, when he was usually the one who was several steps ahead of everyone else. And yet his mind couldn't even process how to react as he was trapped.

He had lived relatively at peace in the community built by the Ashford family. He had foolishly believed that he would live the rest of his days away from his past. He hadn't counted on his past catching up to him.

Princess Euphemia la Britannia, Third Princess in line of the Imperial Throne, had decided to pay an unsuccessful undercover visit to the school in the community during a festival. She and her sister, Cornelia la Britannia, have been assigned by Clovis to stop the skirmishes happening in and around the safe zone area. Of course, Lelouch grew nervous of this news, but he thought that if he kept a low profile, then they wouldn't find him.

How very foolish he was.

He was trapped with only one thought repeating in his head.

I thought you were dead, Suzaku Kururugi.

It had been the usual, coordinating the stupid events his friend Milly Ashford always guilt tripped him into helping. Although he did enjoy the work, Lelouch would rather not deal with the endless amount of headaches whenever he had to fix something.

With these silly festivals something always went wrong. And being head coordinator, Lelouch was damage control.

He had been watching from afar, getting updates every now and then from floating orbs of eyes sent his way from his team. His team consisted of Rivalz, Shirley, Nina, Kallen, and Rolo. Nunnally was enjoying herself with the games and puppet plays.

He stood on a hill overlooking the festival, keeping a sharp eye for anything suspicious. Lelouch, to everyone's eyes thanks to an elegant eye patch enchanted by the succubus witch, was a common black cat demon. Nothing special.

Except he wasn't a cat.

He was a Black Dragon Lord.

The horns on his head, a violet jewel on his forehead, and his scaled black tail were evidence of that. He also had black wings he could pull out at will from his back, but he rarely had the luxury to stretch them out. Taking care of his siblings and two little ones took the majority of his time.

In his true form he was an impressive black dragon. Tall, slim and sleek. His type of dragon was European, which was drastically different from the region he's currently living in, with dragons of their own kind. But in his true form, he was beautiful, magnificent, yet terrifyingly regal.

His siblings, Nunnally and Rolo, were both fairy dragons. Their mother was a wind fairy, and some of her characteristics were passed down to the twins. Nunnally was a soft Green Fairy Dragon, and with an enchanted choker she was disguised as a normal fairy. Rolo was an Amber Fairy Dragon. He was given an enchanted charm bracelet to be disguised as a cat, much like his brother.

His children, twin boys of six, were little dragonlings. The oldest, quiet and cunning for his age, was a Violet Red Dragon Lord. The younger of the two, who was loud and obnoxious, took more characteristics of a Japanese Dragon, his element was earth. The twins wore enchanted necklaces to be disguised as fairy cat mixes.

Despite being twins, they couldn't be anymore different.

The oldest, Aiden, had soft dark brown hair and violet red eyes. He was pale in comparison to his brother, and he was more on the scrawny side, taking Lelouch's build. The youngest, Kohaku, was complete opposite. He had wild wiley black hair, dark green eyes, tanned in the summer, and was a fighter at heart while his brother tended to sit back and observe how to tackle a problem. Kohaku was strong, and Lelouch could tell he would grow up tall and brave, so much like his father.
