Blake

"It's your ex, Rebecca."

"Rebecca? Why would she be calling?" I took my phone and stared at the Caller ID. With Rebecca's name came a lot of bad memories. I let out a shaky breath and answered it.

"H-hi Rebecca." I stuttered out with a cough

"Hey doll. Rebecca? What ever happened to Becky or Becca?" She said in my ear.

"Why exactly are you calling me?" I tightened my grip on my phone. Sherye listened in on our conversation

"Well Blakey, I just wanted to tell you that I'm back in town and I want to have dinner with you."

"I don't know if that's a good id-"

"Go to dinner with me. Sound good? Great! I'll see you at-"

"Rebecca, look..." I looked over at Sherye for help she nodded at whispered at me to tell her that I wasn't single even though I was. "I have a girlfriend."

"GIRLFRIEND?" She shouted through the phone. I cringed at her high pitched yell. "Well then Blakey I want to meet this girlfriend of yours tonight. Meet me at The Emerald Oak at 9 o'clock. Dress nicely please." She ended the call abruptly. I turned to Sherye and stared at her.

"Don't look at me like that." She said as she leaned back on the bench. "I'm not going, and you have a future girlfriend named Sydney. Just take her." She explained as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. I thought about it for a minute.

"Yeah, you're right." I nodded my head thinking it over. But I didn't want to merge my past and possible future together. I didn't want to bring Sydney into this.

"Now go! You have a date to plan."

Sydney

I took a taxi over to Faith and Clarke's house. When I knocked on the door, Clarke immediately opened it while holding a bowl of cereal.

"Oh Hey Syd-" She began when I barged into their house

"Is Faith here?" I said hurriedly she nodded and pointed upstairs. I thanked her and ran up the stairs. When I got to her room, I knocked before entering.

"Hey bitch" I said as I sat down on her bed

"Hey other bitch. Why are you here?" She asked as she turned her shoulders towards me. I took a shaky breath

"Do you know who Trystan is?" I said, pulling out my phone

"No." I showed her a picture of him. She turned her nose up "He looks terrible" I let out a soft laugh but suddenly turned serious. "Why what's wrong?"

Tears began pooling in my eyes as I recalled how terrible him touching me felt.

"Oh no what did he do?" Faith asked urgently "Sydney I swear to god if he touched you." I didn't respond. Faith knew the answer to my question. "Did he, well you know... force you to have sex?"

"No! No!" My eyes widened in shock at the thought. "He forced me to kiss him and wouldn't let go. He began to lift up my shirt and grabbed my as-" Faith engulfed me in a hug. She shushed me as I leaned into her shoulder.

"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." We sat in a comfortable silence for a while. I could hear the soft hum of the fan in her room and the rush of cars driving by. The sun shining through her window was suddenly dimmed by the clouds. My eyesight and hearing sharpened.
