" I really should be getting back to my wife. " Aubrey said trying to get up with out an answer. These people drove him ballistic. Robyn had left about an hour ago, and Lala and her mother has been bombarding him with ridiculous, questions.
"Why are you so quick to leave?" Angela asked with a toothy smile. Angela had a gap, a big one. Just like his father from pictures he's seen.
"I just really need to get back to Robyn. That's my wife. I-I wouldn't leave her alone." Aubrey stuttered.
Aubrey stared at Lala's acrylics. He remember what they felt like, when Lala would run her fingers through his hair. Taking his attention back to his ex, she rolled her eyes. " Okay. Bye see you at work then." Lala dismissed Aubrey from the table.
Aubrey quickly got up and exited out the restaurant. He drove his way home and quietly prayed Robyn wasn't mad at him. He pulled up to the apartment building in the city, and sighed to himself. Once he reached his condo, he could hear Robyn on her phone upstairs. Probably texting Rena everything. Aubrey walked upstairs, and met eyes with his wife. "Oh. You're here?" Robyn was surprised he actually came. She thought he would've stayed with his ex all night. Like he did that one time, when they were dating.
FLASHBACK
Robyn laid in her bed, waiting for the nightly FaceTime call, her and Aubrey shared. But he never called. She grew impatient, and decided to call him for herself. But he never answered. She waited a couple minutes, then it became hours. It was now 2am, and she was going to call him again. She was going to talk to her boyfriend, no matter how late it was. He finally picked up after awhile, and was very grouchy and groggily when he did.
"What Robyn." He said."You know what. Your supposed to call me at 11. It's fucking 2! Who were you out with?" Robyn knew Aubrey found the time to sit down and have talks with her. If he didn't, that meant he was out with someone.
"Nobody. My life can't just revolve around you. I need time to myself sometimes." Aubrey rolled his eyes. She heard Aubrey's phone ring. That meant Robyn accidentally called his Macbook instead. He answered the phone, and Robyn wondered who it was calling him this time of night.
"Robyn hold on." Aubrey tried to put her on mute, but I guess he didn't click the button hard enough. Because she could hear everything." I had fun. Tonight. " She heard a high voice giggle.
Aubrey replied back with, "I had fun too. I missed hanging out with you"
They had a short conversation till Aubrey hung up. He took his attention back to Robyn, and noticed she wasn't on mute. His eyes grew wide. He was filled with guilt and stupidity already."Um. You asshole. You hung out with Laila all night. But couldn't even find the time to call me?" Robyn knew exactly who that was. And before Aubrey could defend himself. Robyn hung up.
She reminisced that moment, as Aubrey changed into his night clothes.
"Of course I was gonna come back baby." Aubrey said as he got in bed.
He tried to wrap his arms around, Robyn's waist, but she aggressively shook his arms off, and turned around.
"You didn't even protect me, or stand up for me out there. You made me look stupid. Then you stayed there looking like a dumbass. Your so irritating Aubrey." Robyn retorted making sure Aubrey got what he deserved.
"Don't touch me. Don't talk to me. Don't look at me. I don't want anything to do with you right now."1. Fighting with Robyn? First Reason why Aubrey did not want to get married to her.
