Tadpole

Cole's POV

I felt Drew's hands on my back, he was giving me a massage,for some random reason, as we waited in line, for our turn at basketball.  I stepped away from him, not wanting him to touch me anymore, it wasn't that I didn't like him, I just didn't like him the way I was pretty sure he liked me. It was my turn to throw, but I couldn't concentrate. Something else was on my mind. And that something was Ty Kemanuae. Lately I've been thinking about him A LOT. And that's probably why I couldn't concentrate on the game.

When I got to the end of the line, I saw Ty on the swings, looking very depressed. I walked over to him and sat on the swing next to him. He looked up and when he saw me, walked away. I watched him walk away, his head was dropping and he was tense. I wonder what's wrong? I thought .

Just after he left, Drew walked over and sat next to me. Just my luck. I thought. "C'mon, Cole! Let's go play basketball." He says like a child. "No thanks." I reply glumly. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Nothing," I say, looking at the ground. "Are you sure? What's wrong?" Drew pestered. "Nothing? I'm fine!" I lie and walk away annoyed.

Cole sat down under the cherry blossom tree. He didn't notice that Ty was right next to him. Which was surprising, because he usually knew where the other boy was.  Cole put his hand down to hold he self up.  He didn't realize that Ty's hand was already there. When there hands touched, they both look down, surprised because the both thought they were alone.

They blushed and look up into each other's eyes, they both were embarrassed to a point where they were scared. They stayed like that until the whistle blew, and the had to walk there laps around the track.

They spent most of the time in silence. Until Nolan, Ty's friend, came up to them, ignoring Cole, and said, "C'mon Ty, you've got to see this." Ty hesitantly, and sadly followed Nolan. He really didn't want to go.

When Nolan finally dragged Ty to his group of friends, one walked up to Ty and said, "Ya know that Cole dude, he's pathetic. You gotta stop hanging out with him. It'll ruin your reputation."  When Ty heard this he wanted to punch someone. He glared at the boy who'd insulted Cole, before running to find him.

On his way he ran into two girls, Tiffany and Abby.  The both started flirting with him and twirling there hair. He tried to tell them to go away, and that he wasn't interested, but they wouldn't listen.  So he pushed out of his path and ran to Cole.

When he got there he and Cole did the weird bro hug thing. It lasted longer than usual. When they realized, they pulled apart immediately, turning red in the face and hoping no one had saw.

Ty and Cole where in class, working in a project. Everyone else had left because the teachers had left and they all went to a different room so they could talk.It was just them. Ty went to get a marker and he tripped on his shoe laces.Cole laughed and stuck out his hand to help Ty up. Ty took his hand, and Cole accidentally pulled him up to hard, so now Ty's face was in Cole's chest. Ty pulled away, but not very far, his nose was still brushing Coles shirt.

It was about five minutes before they completely pulled apart. And when they did, the both wished they hadn't. They had to get back to work. Through out the rest of the class time, it was awkward, they both had feelings for each other. But we're to afraid to admit it.

Cole and Ty texting thread

T: Hey
C:Hi
T:So, ya know how we have dodge ball tomorrow?
C:Yeah
T: One if out players isn't gonna be there
C:Who?
T:Idk but I was wondering if you'd be a replacement.
C:Sure
T:See ya
C:Night

The next day in PE they started dodge ball. Ty's team was going against Nolan's team, who weren't very good. They started off good, but whenever Ty or Cole was out, they did worse.

Ty was mainly trying not to get hit. But Cole was trying to get Nolan out. Everyone in there team was out, except for Katie. She wouldn't throw the balls. But she caught one which brought someone back to the game.

When it was only Ty and Cole who were out, Cole decided he would tell Ty how he felt.

"Ty, there's something I need to tell you." Cole started

"What is it?" Ty said turning to face Cole.

"Don't freak out, I don't want this to ruin our friendship, but I like you." Cole spluttered out.

"Really?" Ty asked.
Cole nodded.

There was a long silence. Cole was scared Ty wasn't going to be his friend anymore.

"Are you mad at me?" Cole asked nervously.

"No! I could never be mad at you. I'm just trying to think of a way to say that I like you back." Ty said, assuring Cole.

Cole smiled at Ty before going back out to play.

While Ty was getting his stuff, Nolan walked up to him with a look of distaste on his face. Ty tried to ignore this. "Hey Nolan." Ty said, not looking up. "What's with you and Cole hanging out? I mean, what happened to not talking to anyone outside the group?"!Nolan rudely asked. "What do you mean?" Ty asked getting mad. "Why are always with him, he's pathetic." Nolan said. "He's not pathetic! He's nice and funny and he's a better friend then you are." Ty said loudly.

From then on Nolan was a bit nicer to Cole. And he tried to keep his friends from messing with him, but he didn't try very hard. Cole was still bullied. But he ignored it. He was just happy with Ty.

Cole and Ty were sitting on Ty's bed after school. "What are you thinking about?" Ty asked Cole who had a look of concentration displayed on his face. "Nicknames." Cole said plainly. "What do you mean?" Ty asked sitting up. "I'm thinking of nicknames for you." Cole said before adding, "I haven't gotten any good ones yet." Ty laughed. "I don't think you'll ever find any think for Ty, it's already a two letter name.

After about five minutes Coke finally did, "I've got it! I've got a nickname for you!" "What is it?" Ty asked, curios what he'd come up with. "Tadpole." Coke said smirking. "And why tadpole?" Ty asked confused. "Because, it's got an ole like Cole, like Cole, and its got a t like Ty." Cole explained. "Sure, whatever." Ty said sarcastically.
