"Okay so..." I trailed off as my dad and Uncle Sam turned to me. Seeing their raised eyebrows, I showed them the laptop screen.

"What's the case?"

"I give you a zombie." I raised an eyebrow as they looked at me like I had just grown three heads. I explain slowly, "Dude got hit by a car, his guts spilled over the road, and he was left for dead, but when someone came to check and took their eyes off him, he had gotten up and walked away."

"Nothing about munching on brains?"

"No," I told him, crossing my arms. "Remember Bobby's wife? She didn't munch on brains."

"Maybe he wasn't dead," Dad said simply.

"Dad," I said sternly, gaining his full attention. "It says here that he was frozen, and if that doesn't help, parts of his body were eaten by birds."

"Any witnesses?" Uncle Sam asked as he glanced between my dad and I.

"Montana state trooper, 20-year vet. Checked his pulse, saw his insides spilled out all over the place, pronounced him dead with a capital 'D.'"

"It looks like we got a zombie case, Dean."

"Possibly," I said with a shrug. "It seems like our type of thing."

"What do you think?"

"I think we got a job." Dad smirked at me. "Let's get ready."

I shut my laptop, put it in its case, and walked out of the room with Uncle Sam hot on my heels. He went to his room while I went to mine.

I packed a week's worth of clothes, along with my toothbrush and some toothpaste. I put my phone in my back pocket and left my room, but not before putting my satchel with my laptop inside over my shoulders.

I met my dad and uncle in the hallway. They both smiled at me and I returned the gesture.

"Let's get back on the road." Dad smirked as we made our way out of the bunker.

"As a family," I added.

"Yeah, a family that hunts zombies," Dad joked with a smile on his face.

"Shut up." Uncle Sam rolled his eyes.

"You shut up."

"Idjits," I muttered, gaining their attention.

"Jerk."

"Bitch."
