Kid Icarus Uprising: The power of two (Reader insert)

Chapter 1: The Return of Palutena

"Sorry to keep you waiting." The sound of two angels called out running. If one were to look, they would see a hyper, brown haired angel boy named Pit, and a prepared, (Y/H/C) haired angel girl named (Y/N).

"It's been too long Lady Palutena!" Pit said after the two jumped through the door, (Y/N) nodding in agreement with him.

"We can chat later, you two," The goddess said, trying to get the brunette angel, Pit, to focus on the bigger picture, "But now it's time to fight!"

She was right, as (Y/N) and Pit looked in front of them, the duo saw a large group of the underworld army.

(Y/N) had immediately gotten her (W/C), and started to attack the invading monsters, Pit doing the same eventually.

As you fought off the troops, a thought had occurred to (Y/N), "Wait... if the underworld troops are here, could that possibly mean..."

"Medusa's been resurrected," Palutena answered in a serious tone, this had slightly but visibly made you shiver at the thought.

"Though the goddess of darkness was defeated long ago, she's back now. And as the goddess of light, it's my duty to protect humanity from her."

"Eh, you worry too much." Pit said, hopefully trying to make the situation seem less lethal, which had made the (Y/H/C) slightly smile at it.

As the two flew, they could see the skies turning from a fluorescent, beautiful, sky blue to a dim and slightly illuminating red.

Soon, the two spotted the large figure of a certain goddess, "Medusa!" The two angels yelled in anger and rage."

"Hello there, Pit and (Y/N). And you too, Palutena. Here to crash my homecoming party?" Medusa asked with a malicious tone in her voice.

"Uh... this really doesn't look like much of a party..."

"What better way to celebrate my return than with a festive bloodbath? After all, I have been gone for 25 Years"

It took the Angels a few seconds to realize what the underworld troops were doing. "They're moving their attack to the ground!"

"Then so are we!" Palutena said as Pit flew straight down, (Y/N) following afterwards. After some time, the two eventually got close to the ground.

"I can't believe I'm actually flying!" Pit said with enthusiasm. (Y/N) could clearly see why he was so enthusiastic.

The two angels had known each other for so long, so long that pit had once dubbed them some sort of term of honorary siblings, which (Y/N) was pretty reluctant of, but soon agreed to make Pit happy.

She had known that while she could fly, and quite well at that, Pit couldn't and would, at times, fall out of trees just trying to fly on his own, which would often lead to bruises that (Y/N) would take care of.

"The power of flight is my gift to you," Palutena said, interrupting the (Y/H/C) thoughts and now focusing back to the matter at hand.

"I'll control your route so you can focus on battle. But I can only maintain the power of flight for five minutes at a time," The goddess said, warning Pit.

"After that, your wings will burn up and you'll fall."

"You have no idea how embarrassing it is to be angels who can't fly on their own," This caught (Y/N)'s attention, "So thanks for your help, without you, we'd be finished."

"Um... you mean angel, right?" (Y/N) asked, putting emphasis on the word angel without the s. Sometimes Pit would add (Y/N) in these types of things to make him seem like he wasn't that weak in comparison.

But, to his dismay, she would usually note that out. Pit slightly pouted at the female who noted that as he fought the troops off, as well as (Y/N) who was smirking slightly.

The two had been fighting off the underworld troops for some time, getting hit a few times in the process until Lady Palutena spoke up.

"Your destination should be coming into view now." The two angels saw the monsters were now attacking the town from a far distance.

"Ugh... they're attacking the town, we gotta do something about it." (Y/N) said, frowning in anger at the sight before her.

"The people need your help, I better get you over there." The goddess of light said as she accelerated Pit's speed up.

The two had eventually gotten to the town, and even as the underworld troops were attacking, they could hear the cheering of the people.

"Do you hear that? Do you hear the people's cheers?" Pit asked as he flew alongside a smiling female that flew next to him.

"They're celebrating the return of the goddess Palutena!"

"Despite the underworld invasion, the people haven't lost hope." The goddess said with a tone of contentment and relief.

"It's our duty to protect them. Prepare for land battle you two." The two angels had flown down closer to land, preparing for what would happen next.

The two angels had been fighting side by side trying to fight off various numbers of the underworld troops, making sure not to get hit too bad.

Some time afterwards, a fireball hit the Coliseum, making a large sound and movement. "Wh-what was that?" Pit asked, jumping a little to the massive sound.

This put the (Y/H/C) off for a while at the surprise, she waited patiently to see what Palutena's response was to be.

"Medusa has unleashed an evil beast in the Coliseum! You two need to hurry there!" The two angels nodded to their goddess as they ran to the Coliseum.

After making it to the Coliseum, the two saw what beast Medusa had set out for them. "Twinbellows!" Pit and (Y/N) yelled, looking at the creature.

"The underworld's faithful watchdog."

Twinbellows was the underworld's watchdog. It consisted of having only two heads and its whole body was covered in flames.

Not to mention, the dog's size was much bigger than Pit and (Y/N) and might have been even bigger, it basically filled the whole Coliseum.

"Old pit's gonna teach you some new tricks! Now play dead!" The two servants had begun fighting the beast.

Now Pit and (Y/N) had their fair share of fighting off evil such as the underworld army whether if it was together or by themselves, in which one would fight while the other stayed behind, mainly from injuries.

But with a boss like this, they had to work together and put all of their efforts in, to defeat this horrendous dog.

The two were using strategies, especially one called strafing as Pit called it. It seemed that the battle would go on forever, but eventually, the two had defeated the Twinbellows.

"Yeah! Victory is ours!" the two angels cheered, full of accomplishment of the battle, "Excellent job you two!"

The Twinbellows had suddenly disappeared into what seemed like smoke, most likely going back to the underworld.

"Listen well, Medusa!" Pit shouted. "Your days of darkness will be over!" (Y/N) Had picked up and soon the two both shouted, "Prepare to meet the light!"

"Let's return for now. This was just our first step in defeating Medusa." A small light had surrounded Pit and (Y/N) before eventually engulfing them taking them back to the temple.
