When I woke up, I thought it was a dream. Little did I know that my biggest dream come true...would turn out to be one of the biggest consequences in my entire life. I guess Karma really did have your number huh dad? So much that your debt even went to me. Well, I guess I should probably start from the beginning shouldn't I?
Let's start with introductions. My name is Derrick. Derrick Lawton, aka Wolf by my dad. The son of the famous assassin "Deadshot." Because of this I was always treated as a villain from the time I was young. I hate to admit it, but I once even thought that I should run away. From dad, and everything that I ever knew. Maybe even having Batman take me in wouldn't be so bad. But I'm glad that I never did. Especially once I turned sixteen. That is when my life fully changed.
"Wolf, wake up! We have to leave right now!" My dad yelled at me as he was putting all of his gear into multiple bags.
I quickly got dressed, used to this routine as it meant that the police and Batman have now found our latest hiding place. Upon coming downstairs I was considerably shocked and worried as I saw my dad in cuffs and sitting at the table with a smile upon seeing me and Batman right behind him. In a split second, maybe out of fear, or just worried for my old man, I grabbed a pistol that was on the floor and instantly had it aimed at Batman's Symbol right in the corner. He looked at me shocked and was about to take a step before I warned him.
"I've paid attention over the years Batman. Take another step and I'll shoot right between the plates and hit your shoulder, the same place that Croc crushed and was never fully healed. Now tell me why you are here and why my dad is looking at me like all of his worries are gone even though he is cuffed?" I asked with a steel determination in my voice which I have never had before.
Batman looked at me with utter shock as I said a weakness of his that I am assuming not even Robin and Nightwing knew. He only blinked at me before he shook his head and looked at my father. "You really have an amazing son Floyd. I see now why you agreed to this deal. I just wish the other children were so lucky to have such a caring parent as you."
I then lowered my guard for a split second before looking at my dad who just laughed and motioned me to sit down. Needless to say that upon Batman's words and my dad's actions I was beyond confused. I needed to know what was going on, so listening to Batman and my dad seemed to be the best course of action at the moment. I laid the .44 Magnum on the table and sat down in front of my dad and Batman and looked at the two.
"Wolf...I am going to prison. Make no mistake about that, but I am happy because you are going to be given a chance at a better life. Batman and the rest of the heroes have a special school that's meant for their children. Us villains have our own unique one for our kids too, but because of how much I despise some of them, mostly Croc and Joker, I never wanted you to interact with them. However me and Batman have agreed that if I go willingly you and the other villain kids will have a chance to go to the special school with Superman as the principal, mostly just to make sure nothing gets out of hand, and be given a chance to prove you're all better than your no good parents."
I can tell how happy my dad was about this deal. About how much he wished this for me. It was written all over his face as he wore the happiest and most genuine smile I have ever seen. I think the only time he had this smile in the past was once I was born. He gestured over to a bag on the counter with a smile as Batman nodded seemingly knowing what was in it. I walked over and as soon as I opened the bag I shed a tear.
"Dad....is this...?" I ask as I start crying a little.
I suddenly feel a hand over my shoulder as I smile a little. Inside the bag were two wrist guns, based on the look they were designed for me. As soon as I picked one up I saw a mask. It was split halfway. One half was similar to my dads but it was jet black with a red eye scope. While the other half was based off of a wolf. I smile at the reference to his nickname for me. Since I only became ferocious when someone threatened our family. Otherwise I was a happy go lucky kinda guy.
