When the cab stopped Sherlock was still leaning on John happily so John managed to lift Sherlock out of the cab where they then proceeded to walk with Sherlock leaning towards John who was giggling fondly as he wrapped his arm around the detectives waist.
"Where to Sherl?" John asked quietly as they walked through the park. Hand in hand, Sherlock chuckled and shrugged his shoulders.
"Picnic?" He suggested.
"We haven't got any food" John pointed out.
"Buy some food?" Sherlock offered, John chuckled and they made their way into an in town supermarket where they scanned the shelves picking up a blanket and tea to go.
They then went to a Chinese takeaway where Sherlock carefully examined the bottom third of the door handle until he was certain it was decent and they grabbed takeaway noodles and sweet and sour chicken which they planned to share.
They got back to the park around an hour and a half later and pulled the brand new blanket out of the packet and laid it on the soft green grass, leaning back onto the blanket with Sherlock lying across his lap.
They drank their tea and got the takeaway out, John feeding Sherlock with the chopsticks and then having some himself, sharing it between them. Sherlock happily ate as John fed him, he ate not only because he was hungry but because he liked seeing John happy.
"Is this what you hoped it would be?" John asked softly, ruffling Sherlocks curls with his fingers.
"Better" Sherlock replied quietly.
"Good" John sighed and laid back completely on the grass, pulling Sherlock onto his chest who lay looking up at him, a smile on his face and a hand over John's heart.
They stayed like that for hours until the sun had gone down and they'd watched the sunset together and still as the moon shone clearly in the black sky and the crystal like stars shone down on them, Sherlock shivered slightly and nuzzled into John more, tucking his arms up between them for more warmth.
"You cold?" John asked, looking down at Sherlock.
"I'm fine" Sherlock assured, pulling his broken arm more into John without injuring it, the cold was making it ache.
"Yeah, of course you are, that's why your shivering" John said sarcastically as he slipped his own coat off and draped it around Sherlocks shoulders, Sherlock instantly felt warmer and John hugged him closer, his arm snaking around Sherlocks waist and resting on his hip.
"Do you wanna go home?" John asked softly, Sherlock merely shrugged and closed his eyes, he could feel the blackness that enveloped him in warmth as he drifted off to sleep, the only thought in his mind being how happy he was with John beside him.
John smiled down at the sleeping detective on his arms and he carried him, making a portal into Sherlocks room where he carried Sherlock into his bed and lay him down. He was about to leave when Sherlock grabbed his jumper weakly.
"Stay" he muttered quietly, tugging weakly at John's jumper.
"Okay Sherl, I'll stay" John whispered quietly, undoing his own shoes and laying them down next to Sherlocks and pulling his jumper off and laying it on his shoes. He then lay down next to the detective and turned to face him, resting on his arm until it was numb and using his other arm to gently hold around Sherlock, his hand flat against the small of his back and pulling him closer.
"John---" Sherlock mumbled into John's neck, John chuckled and stroked up Sherlocks back and down again gently tickling it. "I lo-love y-you"
John smiled and wrapped the detective firmer into his arms, trailing invisible patterns into his skin.
"I love you too, Sherlock, forever and always" John whispered into the detectives chocolate curls.
"Goodnight Sherl"
