Can't let her get away

Chapter 26.

{Michael}

"...maybe it's just the simple fact that I'm still in love with you Michael. And I always will be."

My heart shattered into pieces. Everything she said hit deep.

If I could barely stand hearing about it, I can't even imagine what it was like for her to go through it.

I was determined to help her with everything.

But that last part replayed in my head over and over again and wouldn't leave my mind.

"Angelica you're... you're in love with me?"

She nodded silently.

I smiled noting the seriousness but I couldn't help but let out a relieved laugh.

She looked at me like I was going crazy.

"Oh Angel that's the best news I've heard. Angelica you don't know how long I've held that in because I was afraid you wouldn't feel the same. Angelica I'm in love with you and I have been since the moment we began talking."

A small smile formed on her face and tears formed in her eyes.

"Michael please don't lie right now. You mean that?"

"That's not something people lie about. I promise you. I'm in love with you. I'll scream it out to the world if you want me to."

She smiled brightly and hugged me, neither of us letting go.

"In all seriousness though, you don't know how sorry I am. That night with Eve should have never happened. I made you feel like shit, I made you think all of it was because of you but it was my own mistakes and insecurities that made me act that way. Eve is no longer even in the picture. After you left I asked her to please not reach out to me. I gave a her a reason I didn't just leave her in the dust, that's not me but Eve is no longer a thing for me. I never wanted anyone more than I want you Angel. Please, I adore you with all of my being. I've gone crazy not having you. I haven't even made good progress in my tour rehearsals and I tour soon! Without you I can't function, I'm nothing. You are my everything. Please forgive me." I begged holding her face gently.

I didn't care if I looked weak and vulnerable right now. I didn't care what I had to do but I was determined not to let her go.

"Michael, I already told you I would forgive you in a heartbeat...."

"Then what should I do? I need you to be mine again."

She sighed.

"Michael I just need time."

I looked down, nodding. I knew that I couldn't have her back so simply by just asking, but the rejection still hurt.

"I understand. But I promise I'll be doing everything I can for you to be able to trust me again, and we'll be together soon. Just wait and see Angel. You're the love of my life, I can't lose you. I've said it once and I'll say it forever, you'll always have my heart." I smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

We sat in silence and soon I saw she was getting tired. It's been a while since she's been out, her energy just isn't the same so I understand.

She layed her head on my shoulder and played with her fingers, her eyes closed.

As much as I wanted for her birthday to be amazing, it seems as this year it won't be.

"Lay down, you can sleep. It's okay."

I got her tucked underneath the covers and she fell asleep immediately.

"Happy Birthday my love." I whispered kissing her forehead.

I wanted to stay with her and hold her, but I had to respect our current status and respect our distance. So, I'd just stay in a guest room.

I contacted Angelica's doctor, who's number I got from her mom, and asked for a refill on her prescription. I wasn't going to let her get any worse.

I wasn't going to lose her for any reason. This was going to take time, but I was more than ready to give all of my time to her if need be.

I wanted her to get better and I'd do anything in my power to help her.

I was a big reason that her health fluctuated to this point, so I'll be the one to help heal her.

No matter what.
