All she could see was darkness, she had woken up to her senses a moment ago, she could hear the shouts, the cries, the screams of pain she could feel the hands that had touched, she could taste the dryness of her lips radiating in her mouth, begging her to get a drop of water inside.
She could do all that but fail in opening her eyes. It was as if she had lost control of her eyelids, as much as she tried it would still fail to open. Her whole body was blocked from her mind.
She counted to three before trying again and this time succeeded, at first the brightness took over making her flinch and close a bit her eyes, then blur covering her sight before it settled properly for her to see again.
She was pure confused of her habitat, the room she was settled in was the one of a hospital room. She recognized it quickly from the last time her sister was admitted in.
She sat up, her head heavy, her blood suddenly pounding against her skull, screaming for her to lay back down. She went to pull the cover back when her right hand got restrained back. She looked down confusingly at her hand. Her senses fully coming to life. She felt the silver digging into her wrist. Right there, was her right hand handcuffed to the hospital bed.
Her wounded side, woke her up from her confused state as it send like electrical shots and around the wound, making her wince in pain, her free hand going to her side.
She had finally believed the stories people would say on waking up after an accident, and they were right it was the worse feeling in the wrong and she wanted to get rid of it. With not much choice of getting out of bed, she laid back down, swallowing in every drop of saliva as she winced at the pain consuming her body.
"Emma" the familiar male voice called...that voice that Emma remembered perfectly and couldn't forget....that voice that had last talked to her before being thrown into jail.
"Keith" she whispered, her voice hoarse.
Keith Good was standing in the bathroom's door frame, wearing low waist jeans and a simple white top. She focused her stare on the wall opposite to her, avoiding the stares she was receiving from him.
"what happened ? why am I handcuffed to the bed ?"
"You got attacked in prison, you were badly injured so they brought you here for better medical care, and to make sure you don't escape from here, they handcuffed you to the the bed "
That's when everything came back to her in a crash she remembered getting stabbed by Lauren, Kate saving her. But there was still something she was forgetting that bugged her.
"how come they let you in ?" she asked, pushing away the memories for the moment.
"I told them I was your cousin, the two guards standing outside your door let me in, I've been here since the minute they brought you in" She could see the truth in his words by the dark bags under his eyes.
"what are you doing here ?" she asked, her voice coming out in a low whisper.
"to see you...obviously, I had to see you" he answered her, taking small steps to her bed, her eyes went to his.
"don't you have a girlfriend to take care of instead" her tone a bit harsh, her eyes narrowed at him.
"The only girl I care about has been taken from me for three month" he answered her
"really? Because last time I remember, her hands were tightly wrapped around you" She said, her voice going neutral as the scene replayed in her head.
