Crossfire

72 hours (part 1)

"Shoot her" he ordered.

He did as he was ordered to do and raised his arm pointing the silver gun on the girl.

"Don't do this, this is not you" she pleaded him

"I'm sorry" were his words as he shoot the girl.

Keith looked at the fallen body of Emma Widgeway, her eyes closed...He had to do it.

72 hours earlier 

"I Will see you next week for a last checkup incase if anything unusual happens" the doctor informed the standing figure of Emma.

"Okay, thank you" After spending a week and a half in the hospital Emma Widgeway was finally released and was free to go home. She waited for this day impatiently as she will be able to see her sister again.

She walked out the room and waited in front of the elevator for the doors to open, an old lady stood beside her, waiting too. 

The elevator door opened and the two stepped in, only when the doors closed back had Emma looked at the old lady, she looked at her having this feeling of seeing her before but she couldn't put a finger on it.

That's when it clicked, it was the same old lady, who talked to her, when she came to get the letter her mom left for her that night.

"um hello, I don't think you remember me but a couple of months ago we talked " Emma said, starting the conversation.

The old lady looked at Emma closely before a huge grin broke out.

"Oh why yes I remember you, how are you ?" the lady asked

"I'm fine and you ?"

"Oh you know whatever happens to old people these days but nothing to worry about"

" I want to ask you about the thing you said that night before you left, what did you mean by that ?" Emma asked

Ding

The elevators doors opened and the two stepped out.

"This is a story reserved for another time, I've got to go now but it was nice seeing you again" The old lady said. She turned and walked down the hall. Emma kept on looking at her till her figure disappeared in the crowded hallway.

She sighed and walked out of the hospital, She spotted Skylar and Keith standing in front of a black SUV  car. Skylar was the first to spot her and came running to her friend.

She engulfed Emma in a  bear hug as Keith stood behind. Since the day she was released  from prison, Skylar and Keith seemed to glued to Emma.

"How are you ? Are you hurting ? What did the doctor say ?" Skylar rushed out as she pulled away from the hug

"Sky' I'm fine, I'm not hurting, I just want to go home and see Vanessa" Emma assured her and Skylar nodded.

"Hey" Keith greeted her with a small smile on his lips to which she nodded and returned the smile.

They arrived where the car was parked and Skylar got in the backseat while Keith opened the door to the passenger seat for Emma to get in and then closed it right behind her, he ran to the other side and got in the driver's seat. He started the engine and drove out of the parking lot and way of the hospital. Emma looked out the window deep in thoughts.

"Nice outfit" Keith commented as He glanced at her for a second before his eyes focused back on the road, snapping Emma out of her state. She looked down at her outfit that she had borrowed  from Skylar.  He had expected to see her dressed in the same sense of style she once had before she got thrown in jail.
