48 hours earlier
It's been exactly 18 hours since the whole glass breaking scenario. Keith had left back home early in the morning to get some rest after staying up the whole night and also letting a bit of privacy for Vanessa and Emma to talk before the whole gang meets up. As for Emma, she had stayed up by Keith side, both guarding the house till he left.
Emma sat in the kitchen, a coffee mug in her hands, desperately trying to fight off the tiredness. The whole night her and Keith hadn't talk only sat next to each other in silence. Emma looked up to the sound of footsteps at the entrance of the kitchen. Vanessa walked in the kitchen all dressed up.
"Good morning" Emma said, trying to make eye contact with Vanessa but the younger Widgeway avoid it. She grabbed a chocolate milk box and went to sit at the end of the table.
"You're not going to talk to me ?" Emma asked her, Vanessa just turned her head the other way. Emma sighed and stood up, she placed her mug in the sink.
"Today I kind of need you out of the house because I have some friends coming over, so if you need a ride to your friend I need to drop you off now" Emma said as she leaned her back on the sink and crossed her arms over her chest while looking at Vanessa.
"Does it have to do with anything that happened yesterday ?" Vanessa asked in a monotone voice.
"No" Emma sighed "Are you going to tell me what happened yesterday ?" Vanessa asked this time while looking at Emma. She didn't answer and looked down at her feet.
"Is someone planning on hurting us ?" she asked again but Emma still didn't answer as she rubbed her forehead.
"Does this have to do with the reason why you were away this summer ?" she questioned her, Emma let out a breath and stood up from her leaned position.
"This summer has nothing to do with whatever happened yesterday, yesterday was nothing probably someone doing a prank-"
"Emma stop lying !" Vanessa snapped, interrupting Emma. "I know you lied about what you did this summer" Emma was shocked by her sister's comment. "I know that you went to prison" Vanessa said in a low-tone, almost breaking.
"wh-what did you just say ?" Emma asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I know you lied, when were you going to tell me ?"Vanessa spoke and stood up.
"There is nothing to say because whoever told you that lied to you" Emma tried to lie but Vanessa knew her well enough to know that she was lying, after all she was her sister.
"the tv doesn't lie Emma neither does the news, people were starting to talk. You really thought you could keep this away for me" Vanessa retorted, at that point Emma was loss for words. She was dumb to think she could keep this from her, she was dumb to think that people weren't going to talk. She literally exploded an entire venue and killed hundreds of people with.
"You really thought you could keep this from me and think that I would never find out. All you ever do is lie to me and whatever you are planning on doing today with your 'friends' "she said emphasizing on the word 'friend' " well I surely wouldn't want to stay in the same house with all of you, when you're ready to finally tell me the truth and update me on what's happening in your life you will be welcomed but for now don't talk to me" Vanessa spoke and left the kitchen. The front door closed with such a force that a loud sound echoed in the house where Emma was left speechless and staring at the spot where once Vanessa stood.
