I guess I should have known that I wouldn't get much sleep that night, what with all the sleeping I've done of late. Although what I didn't expect was to be plagued by a series of nightmares most of which I had no memory of and the snip-bits that I did remember were too disturbing to try to make sense of, let alone tell someone about. So for the first time in like forever I didn't switch my alarm clock to snooze mode when it rang that morning. Instead I kicked of the covers and headed to our in suite bathroom that Izzy and I shared. As much as I detest Livingston Academy it cannot be said that the learners were not accommodated with style. Compared to most boarding schools Livingston could be considered a first class facility.
Take my dorm room for example, which is big and spacious with enough room for five bunk beds to fit comfortably. Instead on the right side of the room Izzy's bed was nestled up against the wall all covered up in a red duvet-her absolute favorite color- she slept peacefully. Her chest rising and falling with each shallow breath she took. I was glad to see that at least one of us could get a decent night's sleep. On the left hand side of the room stood my now vacant bed, purple sheets strewn about. What lay in the area between our beds was an old Victorian styled dressing table. The frame of the large mirror consisting of ivory which was carved into intricate designs and patterns, also in the room was two small green couches angled specifically to get the best view of the TV which sat on a small TV stand. In the next room one would find the bathroom which had deluxe shower and everything else that was necessary for a bathroom. Which is why, now as I stood in front of the bathroom mirror brushing my teeth I grew excited at the prospect of taking a nice hot shower. The sound of someone knocking snapped me out of my trance like state, quickly I finished with my teeth.
The knocking grew louder as I made my way to the door, who could be knocking this time of the morning? I thought as I slid of the golden latch and turned the door knob. Opening the door I was greeted by Maddy's goofy grin as she looked at me expectantly.
"Maddy?" I asked surprised.
"What are you doing here, so early?"
"Well good morning to you too" she said sarcastically before she continued.
"I'm here to take you on an early morning jog with me." She said excitedly.
I raised my eyebrow at her before I retorted.
"Crazy lady say what now?"
She rolled her eyes at me before replying.
"Oh come on its not that bad" she said.
"It will be fun and besides if you don't go with me I can't tell you the message Jordan asked me to deliver now can I?" she finished with a smug look spread across her face.
"What message?" I asked curiosity getting the best of me.
"I can't say, until you come jogging with me." She said, fortunately for me I knew Maddy and I knew her well. She would never be able to keep a secret like this ...for long so I decided to trick her into telling me.
"Maddy I couldn't care less what Jordan has to say, if you want to tell me, tell me if not please don't waste my time because I will collect" I said trying to sound nonchalant.
At this, her jaw closed shut and I could see the mental debate she was having with herself. Should I tell her? Should I not? I could practically hear her think.
"Ok, ok I'll tell you... so yesterday I was out for my usual morning jog with the girls from the cross country team right." She paused (probably to create suspense) and continued again.
"So I had my earphones in and I was totally in the zone and then I spotted Jordan leaning against the fountain and apparently he spotted me to since he came up to me and greeted. He was in he's running gear so I assumed he was out running before and I asked him if he was jogging. Oh and by the way did you know he jogs every morning?" she asked.
