Up and early today because today is the first day of practice. Brendon made me ride my back all the way to the ice skate arena while he wrote in his goddamn car. I walked into the arena being greeted by a hyped Zane and Niall.
"Brendon Urie is your fucking coach and he's in there being his beautiful self! How do you feel right now," Zane asked with such excitement, pointing to the entrance of the rink. Niall nudged his hip, giving him that remember your married look.
"I feel thirsty," I say, taking a drink of my ice cold water.
Zane gasped, "Are you serious?" As on cue, Brendon walked out wearing a tight black t-shirt and gray sweatpants. He stood there with a smile on his face, motioning me to come over.
Once I got to him, he just embraced me in a hug, "Ah, right on time! Good girl, now let's begin." Zane and Niall stood there in awe, watching us walk into the ice rink. He led me into the dressing room, placing me down on the bench. "Did you bring your own skates or do you use the ones here?"
"I brought my own," I replied, reaching into my duffle bag to get out my ice skate. Brendon took them from my hands, putting them on my feet. I felt like Cinderella which is weird cause when the hell have I ever felt that? That's right, never. He looked up at me smirking, while tying the long laces. I didn't know how to react, so I just put my down still feeling him stare at me. Once Brendon finished, he lifted my head up with his finger, "You ready?" I nodded my head. "Today we are just going to be practicing the basics and then we'll work our way up each practice. Sound good?"
"Why start with the basics?"
"Why not," Brendon responded, with his typical smirk. Well, he got me there. Brendon put on the radio, then joined me on the ice. "I want you to spin for a minute."
"Seriously, you want me to just spin," I said, placing a hand on my hip.
He intimated me, placing his hand on his hip, "Do it." I sighed, going to the middle of the rink, and did as he said. "Perfect! Now . . . do a spiral for two minutes. Go!" I hate this, but I did as he said. "Good! You're doing amazing!"
"Well, no kidding. Brendon these are basic ass moves that I already know!"
"Don't sass Brendon Urie," yelled Zane. Oh no.
Brendon laughed, "Yeah, don't sass me missy." Zane, why you do this? I stood there in the middle of the rink, while they laughed. I really just want to run and hide, but instead I just stay still, not looking at them. I heard the noise of skates coming closer to me as I turned to face the person. He looked at me with a smile, "Sorry, I know you really want to work on the more complicated moves and that's great! For now, I want to watch you do the basic moves. I promise that tomorrow we won't do anymore, okay?"
"Okay," I answered, smiling.
"Let's do the moves together. Lunges!" This continued for two more hours. We did forward crossovers, backward crossovers, toe loops, toe jumps, flip jumps, and more. Brendon went to use the restroom while I went to the dressing room to take off my skates.
"I still can't believe Brendon Uries your coach, Poppi," Niall told me.
"I wish he wasn't," I replied, bluntly, taking off one of my skates.
"Wait, what? Why?"
"Cause he's an a amazing skater and shouldn't give it up to coach a failure."
"Poppi," yelled a voice. I turned to the doorway to see Brendon standing there. His eyebrows furrowed and arms crossed. "I'm sorry, but Zane could you leave us for a second." Zane nodded his head and rushed out. Brendon kneeled in front of me, "You, Poppi Marie Lynn, are not a failure! I told you once and I will not be telling you again, do not call yourself that. Do you understand me?" Brendon stared at me, sadness in his eyes.
"I understand."
He stood up, helping me off the bench, "Let's go home. You did very well today."
