A WEEK LATER...
Tonight is the night of the ball! I am dreading it, but I am also so excited. I cannot wait to see all my old friends. However, it will be the most awkward night ever. Imagine walking in a room where everyone thought you were dead. But no, you are alive, but a little shaken up. Not the most fun situation.
I enter the ballroom. Everyone immediately stared and whispered. There has never been a time in my life as awkward as this one. I look around. I forgot most of the people here. I am not in the mood to see people, nevertheless talk to them.
I walk to the food table because there is nothing else to do. I have a delicious seaweed sandwich.
A hot merman approaches me. His abs and jawline leaves me speechless. He had a gorgeous, shiny tail. His hair was messy, but in a good way. He looks at me with his wide blue eyes. "Do you want to get out of here? We can take a few of those sandwiches and leave this awkward place," He proposed.
"Sure. I honestly hate this ball more than anything. But I don't know about the exploring part. I probably shouldn't explore because we know what happened last time." I said sadly.
"I can protect you. Nothing will happen in my watch. Please?"
"Oh fine. Since you insist."
We swam through the crowd unnoticed. We go outside and I have butterflies in my stomach. What will happen next?
