At first glance, it looked like Jungkook was winning but as the game continued Jimin ended up winning. He smiled and cheered in victory while Jungkook pouted and stared at the board in betrayal.

“Looks like I don’t have to be your servant,” Jimin commented gleefully.

“Yea...at least not this time,” Jungkook said with a small smile of his own as he gazed at Jimin’s cheerful expression.

“You know we’re tied now right?”

“Tied?”

“Yea since that chess game you’ve won three games and with this win I’ve now also won three games.”

“Oh, you’re right. Guess our next game will be a tie breaker, we should have special bets placed on that one, don’t you think?” Jungkook asked wiggling an eyebrow which made Jimin laugh and shake his head.

“So since I won, you have to tell me what’s the issue between you and your dad,” Jimin said after calming down from all the laughter. The mood turned a little tense as Jimin watched Jungkook for a response. Jungkook nodded but he didn’t look too pleased about the deal.

“How about we go inside to talk about this? It’s already turning dark anyway and I don’t want anyone hearing what I say.” Jungkook suggested and Jimin nodded. So the two packed up the games and containers. Jungkook folded the blanket and placed it back into the basket. They went back inside dropping the containers off in the kitchen along with the picnic basket. Then they headed up to Jungkook’s room. Once they were settled onto the bed, cuddled up next to one another Jungkook began speaking.

“Where do you want me to start?” Jungkook asked, running his fingers through Jimin’s hair lightly.

“Start with when you first noticed the feelings of resentment,” Jimin instructed and the younger nodded.

“Alright...I suppose I first noticed them when I was in my second year of high school...All my friends were allowed so much more freedom than I was and I grew jealous of it. One day a friend invited me to their birthday party, but the thing was it was on a yacht. So while asking my mom for permission, my dad overheard and forbade me from going. I got angry at him and asked why I couldn’t go. His answer to me that day was basically what I told you earlier today. That he didn’t want me making a fool of him by doing something stupid. I promised him I wouldn’t drink but he didn’t trust me enough or he just wasn’t willing to take the chance…. After hearing that I began to find more and more instances when he’d told me not to do something and I realized they’d all been acts of business more than acts of love. He places his business above everything else and I really don’t like him because of that….Even with mom, it was like that. Their relationship had gotten to a point where he hit her as you know and so she went to your... well adoptive mother?” Jungkook paused to look at Jimin to see if the term he’d used was right and when Jimin nodded he continued.

“Well even after their relationship was somewhat fixed by your adoptive mother things still weren’t perfect...Dad never hit her again but when he’s angry his words would be enough to hurt her…And while she seemed to forgive him I don’t think she ever really did, and because of that I think I sided with her a lot and saw my dad as ruthless and uncaring...and there’s one other thing that’s weighed on my mind for some time now that’s contributed the most to my growing aggression towards my father...” Jungkook said but trailed off near the end, his lips pressed together and his eyes focusing on his hands as he thought.
