“Jungkook I know I’m supposed to pick up the kids today but can you pick up Lisa from school today please? I think I’ll be late coming home,” Jimin said into the phone as he gathered all the equipment he needed for the experiment he was currently going to run. He and Yoongi had been hard at work with their new research after the surprising results of their last one. They received so much funding for their last paper that they still had more than enough to continue it and test out the limitations of their discovery.

“I can, how late do you think you’ll be darling?” Jungkook asked with a hum.

“I don’t know Kookie, Yoongi hyung and I are doing so many tests right now I think I’ll be here well into the early hours of the morning,” Jimin answered with a sigh as he set down his equipment and readjusted his cellphone against his ear.

“Aw, so I won’t be able to see you until morning?” Jungkook questioned sounding as if he was pouting which Jimin was sure he was. Hearing his pout made Jimin smile a little, they were both still so in love with each other even though they’d already been married for five years now. So much had happened in those five years.

They’d brought their own place to live a few months after getting married. Jungkook had wanted to buy another mansion for themselves, but Jimin didn’t want something as big as the mansion Jungkook’s parents lived in. He prefered something less extravagant. As such they decided to buy a plot of land and build the perfect house for themselves. The perfect house ended up being a huge house which could be considered a really small mansion, essentially a compromise between both of their wants. The house was two stories tall, had five bedrooms, four bathrooms, two studies, and a small dance studio. The thing Jimin loved most about the house was the space, it wasn’t cramped inside and they also had a huge backyard with a lovely garden. They hired a few workers to come take care of the garden and clean the house on a weekly basis.

Some other things that happened was Jungkook’s father had went into retirement a year after they were married, and now Jungkook was completely in charge of the company. Jimin had been doing more research projects and Yoongi had become a permanent partner as their interests aligned and they worked really well together. Also, the two of them had adopted a little boy two years ago and a little girl just last year, and were talking about maybe adopting one more child. The little boy was named Jihae and had just turned twelve while the little girl who was named Lisa and would turn eight in a couple of months.

“Probably not, but at least it’s the weekend tomorrow, and your grandmother asked us to take the kids to visit for the weekend. So after we drop them off, we’ll have some quality time to ourselves for our anniversary.” Jimin said not so subtly reminding the other though he was sure Jungkook hadn’t forgotten.

“Hmm quality time together sounds wonderful,” Jungkook hummed.

“Doesn’t it? We’ve been so busy lately with both work and the kids,” Jimin voiced his agreement.

“Speaking of kids, you only said I needed to pick up Lisa, what about Jihae? Doesn’t he need to be picked up as well, or does he have some after school thing again that I wasn’t aware of?”

“Jihae will be home late because he’s going to hang out with Hyunsik after school. Hyunsik’s mom should drop him back home by six though.”

“Hmm ok, I’m glad to see how close those two have gotten. I was really worried Jihae wouldn’t make any friends this year again.”

“Me too, he’s so quiet sometimes I worry a lot. But I’m glad he’s opened up to us and is starting to be more open at school too.”

“Yea, I’m so happy about that, Jihae is just thriving this year at this school it seems,” Jungkook commented sounding happy.
