"They're here," Leon warned, bringing his rifle to his shoulder. "Stay out of the shadows."

The air smelled like sulfur and a putrid mix of rotten flesh and ammonia. The bloodsucking, sun-hating, human-like monsters were lurking in the shadows. If one wasn't ready, the splash of your intestines spilling onto the ground was the first indication of their presence.

The pair of brothers stalked through the rocky ravine. The youngest brother, Henry, whispered,
