T W E N T Y - S E V E N

For a second I thought he fell unconscious again, until his hands cupped my cheeks and his soft, warm lips moulded with mine.

My heart had already left my chest and was now swimming in heaven.

Somehow I managed to smile, and wrapped my hands around his neck, enjoying the sweet contact. Man, it's about time!

However, when reality hit me like a bullet through my head, I gasped and pushed him away with such aggression that he fell onto the floor in a massive thump. "Sorry, but I have to do this... thing. Bye!"

I bolted out of the cinemas, mentally cursing at myself a million times over. Oh my goodness, I can't be with him now—I'm leaving in less than a week! Just the thought of never seeing him again caused tears to brim in my eyes for the second time today. I like him so much, a little too much for my heart to handle. And now I have to leave him? Forever? Just when I was getting somewhere with him?

I groaned and looked up at the sky, closing my eyes in defeat. Damn.

The next day, something very, very horrible happened.

I stood there in awe, my jaw neatly rested on the ground as I scanned the entire school corridor, which was decorated with layers and layers of professional photos.

Of Chance.

Shirtless.

Oh crap.

Every single student was staring at─no let me rephrase that─every single student was gawking at the photos, gossiping furiously all around me.

"Is this seriously Chance Montes?! The geek who can't even utter a word without crying?"

"Oh my god he's so hot!"

"Omg no, he's hotter than hot!"

"Girl back off, he's mine!"

"What did you just call me?"

"I said gir─" The girl who said that finally looked up at the guy with, I must add, amazing eyebrows! "Oh."

Before you could say "hello", the crowd erupted into war and the school had officially become a battlefield. Fists were thrown everywhere, and girls were fighting over a photo of Chance... when they could literally just grab their own from the millions of copies all over the floor. I grunted, trying to squeeze through the wild beasts without being shredded into pieces.

Wow, now I understand why Chance wanted to keep his identity a secret.

Fortunately, I managed to get out of there in one piece, huffing and puffing thoroughly. Great, where do I go now?

I decided to go to the boys' toilet. I don't even know why, I guess I was just bored. And boy, what a coincidence it was because when I entered, I walked into what seemed like a interrogation involving seven very familiar boys.

Jacob, Skylar, Orio, Tristan, Ethan and Evan all huddled around Chance, who I tried extremely hard to avoid making eye contact with. They all seemed very stunned when I walked in, but after seeing who I was they relaxed dramatically.

"Hey guys." I waved with a confused smile. "Whatcha doing?"

"Oh sup Riley." Skylar grinned, snaking an arm around my neck. "Nothing much, just about to beat up Chance if he doesn't tell us his true identity."

I gulped. Is that what's going to happen to me when they find out my true identity?

"Yeah, apparently he's the son of only the most influential man in the entire world!" Triston growled, twisting to Chance with a if-looks-could-kill face. "What the hell, Chance?!"
