I stayed in the Impala while Sam and Dean got the room. It was the same as the last motel. Two beds, a small table by the window, and a small bathroom. Dean and Sam started cleaning their guns. It was silent, except the click of the guns as they made sure everything still worked. About 20 minutes passed and we heard the low rumble of an old ford. Dean stood up and walked over to the window. He pulled back the curtain, slightly, just enough so he could see through with one eye. He looked at Sam and kind of pursed his lips.
"It's Garth," he said as he walked to the door.
"Awesome," Sam replied sarcastically. Dean opened the door and I could see the person outside was smiling.
"What's up Garth?" Dean said as he exhaled a long slow breath.
"Nothin' much. I heard you guys were working a case and just thought I'd drop in and lend a helping hand!" Garth seemed like a nice guy. He was average height and he had a happy glow to him.
"How did you find us?" Sam looked really confused.
"GPS in your phones," Garth replied. Sam scoffed at him and sat back down.
"Come on Sammy..." Garth walked over with his arms spread out. Sam stood up and gave Garth an unwilling hug. He was a hugger. Garth did the same thing to Dean. He still hadn't seen me. Just as I thought I might get away without a hug, he saw me.
"Well, hello friend!" He looked at me with an enthusiastic smile, "Who are you?"
"AJ," I replied, "you Garth?"
"You bet I am!" Was he always like this? He gave a "big ol' bear hug" as he called it. He started talking to Sam and Dean but I tuned him out. Another strange man I don't know. He seemed nice but nobody likes happy, happy, happy that much. Oh well, I'll get used to it.
"Alright, I'll go to the bar, Sammy hit the books. AJ! You're coming with me," Dean caught me off guard with that last statement.
"Why?" I asked.
"Well you can't stay here and Garth is leaving to do some research at the library. Sammy, too."
"Okay," I gave in because I knew there was no winning this argument. Sam got in Garth's car and drove off. Dean got in the impala and turned the engine over. I hopped in the passenger side. Dean turned on the radio and AC/DC started blasting from the speakers. He started singing along quietly so i could barely hear him. We pulled up to the bar and got out. When Dean opened the doors the smell of beer and whiskey shot at us. Dean sat down at a table and called a waitress over.
"I'll take a beer and get her a water," Dean said to the waitress. I guess I was the designated driver if he drank, too much. He went through three beers like they were nothing. I didn't have anything to do so I just sat there while Dean made conversation with the waitress.
"What am I supposed to do? Just sit here?" I asked him in an angry tone.
"Well, there isn't much to do," He was calm. A few more people had walked in after us but not many. Sam and Garth walked in and sat with us. The waitress came back over and asked if they wanted anything.
"Nothin' for me. Thanks," Sam told her with puppy dog eyes.
"I'll take a beer," Garth said.
"No, you won't," Dean said, "I don't want to be around drunk Garth. Ever." The waitress came back and handed Dean another beer.
"Here you go, on the house," her eyes went black and she reached for me. I backed up into someone's chest. It was another demon. He grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder. Everyone in the bar was a demon.Dean pulled out a knife, the same one that killed the demon at the motel, and started swinging. Sam pulled out a shotgun and started shooting them. Garth pulled a flask out of his pocket and poured whatever was in it on the demon that was carrying me. He dropped me. When I fell I heard a loud cracking noise. Garth made a ring of salt around me.
"Stay in the ring!" He yelled, but in a polite way. Just as he said that Dean got knocked back and broke the salt line. There were demons running at me from every angle. The guys were all on the ground. Just when I thought I was done for, Castiel showed up. He put his hand on one demons head and the demons face started glowing and he fell down dead. Another one came up behind him and he stabbed it as another ran to his side. Cas caught the demon's head in his hand. The demon was dead. One last demon stood a few feet away.
"Well done Castiel. Now hand over the girl before things get messy," The demon said with a smirk.
"No," Castiel's voice was gruff and he had blood all over his face, "I won't!"
The demon, still smirking, said, "Have it your way," he ran towards Cas and tried to use a blade on him. I flinched. Cas had stopped the demon's hand before it hit him. He tried to bring his other hand around but he struggled. I saw Dean run up behind him and stab the demon. Cas turned around.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah," I told him, "I think so," I fell down and everything went black. I woke up in the Impala sitting next to Cas. My right arm and leg were in serious pain. I tried to ignore it and I put my head against the glass. I closed my eyes and felt goosebumps because Dean had the AC on high. Someone covered me up with something. It felt like a jacket but it was longer. I opened my eyes for a second and it was the trench coat. Cas was only in his suit now. I couldn't move my leg so it wasn't covered up completely but at least he tried. I can't remember the last time someone had done something like that for me. It was nice.
