"We have to go back to the house." He says. I exchange worried looks with the rest of the people in the room.
"Do we have to?" Summer asks for all of us. That house was not only creepy, but it contained the spirits of Emily, Lizzy, Evan, Dylan, Hailey, and Colton.
"Well that's the last confirmed spot that Sadie has been in." Carter says, shrugging.
"As much as I hate to say this, I think Carter's right." I say and the rest of the room nods.
"It's only about an hour away. I can drive." Ashton volunteers.
"Please, can we go tomorrow?" Alex begs. I feel a bit of pity for him. He wants to be apart of this too.
"Yeah. But tomorrow the latest." Ashton agrees, giving in to his brother.
"What are we going to do if we find her?" Sarah asks nervously.
"I don't know." I say, honestly.
"Just don't do anything bad." She says. "Please."
I nod, mentally promising myself to not let us do anything bad to her. We weren't going to anyway, this just confirmed it.
I sit down on the chair next to Alex's bed. By now, everyone else has exited to the cafeteria and it's just me and Alex.
"Hey." I say, trying not to sound awkward.
Alex is in love with me. He doesn't know that I know. Do I love him back?
I think I do.
But if we did start dating, we'd take it slow. I've never had a boyfriend, first kiss, first hug, first hand holding or anything.
Pathetic, I know.
"Keira, I need to ask you something." He says.
A knot twists in my stomach. What is he going to ask me?
"Yes?" I respond.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks hopefully, a nervous grin on his face.
"Yes, I will." I say joyously.
Will we last? I hope so.
Everyone else returns from the cafeteria at this point, their hands filled with coffee and chips.
"We got you some water." Ashton says, tossing me a water bottle. I smile as a thank you. I'm glad he knows that I hate coffee. It's tasteless and disgusting.
Alex clears his throat and all heads turn to him.
"I'd like to make an announcement. Keira Something West is officially my girlfriend." He says, smiling happily.
"Finally." Carter mumbles.
"Wow, you actually got some balls and did it!" Ashton says, patting his brother on the back. Alex glares at him and I stifle a laugh.
"I just want to get out of this hospital. I feel absolutely fine." Alex says. "Sorry Keira, a hospital is a weird place to ask that."
I laugh. "It doesn't matter where you asked it."
He shrugs and intertwines his hand with mine. It feels perfect, like two connecting pieces of a puzzle. I try to ignore the sparks shooting out from my hand.
"Now we have two couples. And now Ashton is single and all alone." Alex says, breaking the silence.
"Very funny." Ashton says, playfully glaring at Alex. Meanwhile, Sarah fidgets awkwardly in her chair.
Sarah and Ashton. They would be cute together. And now that we know that Sarah isn't a psycho killer.....
Must. Ignore. Incoming. Ship!
"It's getting pretty late. I'm going to have to go." Carter says and Summer nods.
"I think I have to go too." Sarah says, running out quickly.
"Bye, see you all tomorrow." Summer says happily, exiting hand-in-hand with Carter.
Ashton follows them out, leaving me and Alex.
"Oh, Alex?" I say.
"Yeah?" He asks, looking at me.
"It's Rose. My middle name is Rose."
