Sanji pov
"Oi, Monkey slow down, stop pulling!" I sighed yanking on his chain leash. He got a lot bigger than I could have ever imagined. Monkey was defiantly boxer and something fluffy.
My dog only paused for a second before starting back in his unusual manner. We were jogging on the path we did every morning for exercise, seeing the same faces and small shops. Pennsylvania was everything I dreamt it to be. Quiet and quaint. The calm atmosphere helped me. Yes, I still had flashbacks and desires, but I was able to say no. No to drugs and no to fears.
"We are going to go home if you don't stop!" I demand, causing him to sit and whimper as he looked back at me, causing me to roll me eyes. He was so fake. "Don't you think your to old for that?"
"Rrroof!"
"Yeah yeah, lets go before your girlfriend leaves the park." I laughed, picking up our pace so could catch Amazon at the park. Her owner, Boa, was beautiful, so I didn't mind getting there early to chat.
We were almost there since I turned left into a short cut, a quick path through a neighborhood.
"Rrrroof, roof, RooF!" Monkey flipped out as his paws scrapped on a window causing his salvia to stain it.
"Hey chill out!" I yelled, regretting my decision not to get a harness instead of a collar. I hated pulling his leash because I was afraid it would hurt his neck. "What's gotten into you?"
Despite my words, Monkey continued to growl relentlessly, clawing and scraping at the clear material. My heart began to race. The last thing I wanted was for someone to come out her and call the cops. That already happened once when Monkey got loose and jumped on a little kid, causing him to scrape his knee. The kid, named Kidd, told his dad, Killer, who called the cops.
Monkey only wanted to play, but the father said he was a pitbull, which he clearly isn't, yet he got a strike. One more and they would have to put him down. Pitbulls aren't even bad dogs, but nothing I said eased his temper.
That's when I saw it. A rush of memories that never really seemed to leave my mind in the past 3 years came rushing back.
Green hair and tanned skin was enough to know who Monkey was calling for, but a bullet went through my heart as I was wonder struck by the scene. He was with a petit pink hair girl, and she was clearly holding a baby wrapped in a warm pink blanket. They were unpacking?
"Monkey let's go now!" I screamed, grabbing him by the collar as ears threatened to spill down my face. All these years I dreamt of seeing Zoro, and I wished for him to be happy. But seeing him in there with a warm smile and a daughter was to much. The jealousy was physically painful, like I was suffocated.
I wanted to be the one holding that baby.
I should have been the one receiving that smile. That would have been my future if I hadn't disappeared. "Please come on!""Yip! Yip, rrRoof!" Monkey was like a siren howling and barking uncontrollably, causing me to clench me eyes shut. My sneaker were pressed into the pavement as I did my best to pull Monkey away. He didn't need to see that scene either. Zoro had moved on fine without either of us, and I planned to keep t that way.
