Autumn was merely a few days way and we had taken a few days off. He was staying at my house since my mom was out of town. It was literally like we were at the next stage of our relationship. Moving in and ish.
"Hey babe!" I said as I came home from the pizza place. I could hear children roaming around, screaming and giggling. "Um, Alex?"
"In the kitchen."
"What are...Oh my god, Jess and Lexi."
They both ran towards me screaming "Aunt Faith" and hugged me.
Meanwhile, my phone rang."It's your mom." He shouted.
"Oh, gimme it."
"Listen to me, Faith."
"Hey, mom."
"May is coming at two and dropping the twins."
"Actually, they're already here."
"I've really got to go. She'll pick them up at around five."
"Okay."
"So apparently my cousin was supposed to come at two but came at one."
"Oh no, that's alright."
"Yess."
"Well, then will they eat a pizza?"
"Yeah. You wanna know something interesting?" I asked Alex.
"Always!"
"Jess once smacked Lexi! It was hilarious."
"Mmm, really? Nice."
"Alex, don't encourage it."
"Sure, why not everyone loves a good smacker."
"Aha, maybe I'll smack you." I chuckled.
"I'm okay. I'll smack you right back." And then we were about to kiss but were interrupted by Jess.
"Auntie Faith, is he your boyfriend?" Jess asked.
"Ahem, let's talk about this okay? Who wants to eat some cake?"
"We have cake?"
"No, but I could get it from the bakery."
"Lexi has dentist trouble. She eats all the chocolates." Jess said.
"Aha. Okay, then. Pizza?"
"Auntie Faith. Is he your boyfriend?"
"Why do you keep asking that, Lexi?"
"Yeah, I'm your aunt's boyfriend."
"Alex?" I shouted. "Seriously?"
"What? It's not like they're five. "
"They're four!"
"I could always snap my fingers and pretend that didn't happen?"
"No." I rolled my eyes.
"Let's watch a movie. Moana."
"Okay. I'll put it on."
"Can I ask you something?" Lexi said.
"Sure, honey."
"What is a boner?"
"WHAT?" I shouted.
"Oh, come on." Alex said and face palmed.
"Oh God. Where did you learn that from?"
"School."
"School? Seriously? What school do you go to."
"Say. Say. Say. Say." They shouted repeatedly banging the table.
