Wow, I knew I was famous and all but really: have these people never seen an assassin?
I am completely shook.
Elders are looking at me with sad looks, new warriors are looking at me with angry looks. Grinning, my hand shoots up in a wave. Multiple people jump and follow my every movement with their hungry eyes.
"Hello, I'm Blue Smoke, as you already know," I look around to see unamused faces. Grunting, I say, "Geez, tough crowd. Well anyways- I am here to help, none of you are in danger unless associated with my target,"
As the words fly out of my mouth I feel the tension of the room start to be lifted. A small smile of triumph creeps onto my face and I look at Jason, who has been standing next to me this whole time. He smiles back at me, which makes my heart undoubtedly flutter.
I avert my gaze back to the table, uncomfortable of how he is making me feel.

Jason
My wolf howls inside my head.
She smiled at us. I could practically jump for joy. This is amazing
She's going to accept us, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my g- Koda, my wolf, purrs.
Koda, hush, we don't know for sure yet. I growl at him as he sulks back into the corners of my conscience.
I look at the beautiful female in front of me. Her silky hair sways as she talks animatedly, making me want to reach out and run my fingers through it and bask in the softness of it. This woman is doing things to me.
I am supposed to be the most powerful and secure wolf, yet every time I get near Blue, my breath is stolen. How she gets into the locked chambers of my cold soul is beyond me- but as she does, it's as if she breathes love and life back into me.
Ever since my mother died, I haven't felt this much love towards someone- and I've only known her for a few hours.
That hurts, my snarky wolf remarks. I mentally roll my eyes. Koda has always had a flare for the dramatics.
"Jason?"
I look up, startled. Blue is looking at me with an expectant face.
"Uh... Yes?" I try.
"Okay! Then sit down and lets eat," she chuckles. I rush to pull her chair out for her and she gives me a look like, 'um wtf?' I just smile in return, sending her a wink that I hope would make her heart skip a beat.

After dinner, I escort Blue back to her room, explaining where everything is on the way.
When we near her room, she stands in her doorway. The moonlight cascading in from the window forms a halo that frames her flawless figure, making her look more beautiful.
If that was possible. Koda barks.
We stare at each other for a few seconds before she lifts her hand, forming a fist. My eyebrows furrow... she's asking for a fist bump?
I look down at my unclothed hand, realizing if our skin touches, sparks would fly, signaling to her what we are. When I look back to Blue, she frowns slightly and drops her hand.
"Er- Goodnight Blue," I say quickly.
"Yeah. Uh, goodnight Alpha Jason," she says. I was about to tell my mate that she didn't have to say Alpha until the door is shut in my face. Grunting, I pull a hand down my face.
I am such an idiot.
Yes, yes you are, says Koda.
We're the same person, Koda, I remark. He grunts and shuts our link.
I walk to my room thinking about my sister, Lizzie. Goddess, I miss her so much. She was taken three days ago and I only reached out for help from the Agency when I couldn't find her on my territory. Lizzie is so small, something could happen to her.
When I enter my room, I throw myself onto my bed. Great, just great.
My sister is gone, my own mate is an assassin who won't tell me her damn name, and I'm an Alpha who needs to do pack work. Sighing, I roll out of bed to my desk.
I open some files and grab a pen before starting the long night of work.

A fist bump?
A FIST BUMP?!?!
Jesus, I'm such a dweeb. Groaning, I start to wiggle out of the clothes. When my jeans and shirt are off, I blink.
"Shittt," I curse, realizing that I have nothing to sleep in.
I poke my head out of the door and call Jason's name quietly. Then louder, hoping his werewolf hearing will allow him to hear me. I close the door and push a hand through my hair.
Seconds later the door is flung open, revealing a troubled, shirtless Jason. I stand there dumbfounded until I realize what I'm wearing.
He stops, his eyes raking shamelessly over my body. I shiver under his darkened gaze.
"Hey, pervert! I need some pajamas or something," I hiss at him.
He mutters an okay and shuffles back to his room. While he's gone, I grab a robe from the bathroom and slide it on.
I sit on the edge of the bed, waiting for him to return with clothes.
The door slowly opens and seconds later, Jason appears, still very shirtless. I flicker my sight back to his eyes and he growls. Yah, he growls... at me. I huff and hold out my hand.
He pads over to me and sets a large t-shirt into my open palm. I walk to the corner of the room and switch my robe with the shirt. It falls to my mid-thigh and smells like Jason.
Turning back to a sweating alpha, I grin sweetly, "thanks man, night!" and with that I shoo him out of my room. When he disappears, I march to the bed and fall into the soft comforter.
I snuggle under the sheets, feeling them mold around my bare legs. My eyes flutter shut as I think about the day of investigating to come.
