"You know. I was hoping you would text me." You gave a calm smile, it was fake when you saw Shinichi in front of your door step the next morning. Your step dad left for a business meeting five minutes after waking you up. "Sorry.."

You didn't talk as much as you wanted, today you wore a sleeved shirt with a vest over, you were forced to. Last night you were punished for not calling Gatou, 'sir'. And you were sent to your room with no phone, but you didn't want to tell Shinichi that. You hardly knew him anyways.

"That's fine. Maybe next tim-." You gave a confused look when he put an arm across you, giving narrowed eyes with parted lips around the area. "What is it..?" "Run." You gave a faint gasp when he took your hand, pulling you with him as he ran.

"Shinichi!" You tugged away after he slowed down, taking in deep breathes as you did the same, along with staring at him in confusion and worry. "Sorry. Parasite." You gave parted lips and a heavy swallow. "What?" "Yeah. Don't worry about it. Come on. Don't want to be late to school like we were to class."

You didn't question, seeing how calm he was about it, walking off to school as if nothing happened, as if he didn't pull you and run for his life with you. Instead, you followed behind him, he had a smile the whole way, you tried your best not to stare up at him.

"There you two are." You gave a calm smile towards Murano as she walked behind you and Shinichi into the school, where you split to go to first period only to meet up, just you and him, in the halls. But throughout the day, even at lunch, your mind was focused on three moments.

The first one being Shinichi's behavior hours ago. The second being your step dad with Shinichi's words on monsters. The third, being your mother and how her disappearance could involved either a parasite or your step dad.

"(Y/n)!" You gave a small gasp just before it turned into a yelp, grabbing your arm after it was hit with the door knob of a door, which a student violently pushed open. "You alright?" You gave a small nod after stepping off the last step of the staircase of the second floor of the school.

"I'm fine." You gave parted lips when your sleeve was grabbed. "Here. Let me see." You tugged away, but it was too late, he rolled up your sleeve to your elbow crease, even though the knob hit the side of your shoulder, only to give parted lips and slight widened eyes after seeing marks trail up your arm. "(Y/n)." "I'm fine."

You dropped you book satchel that was hanging from your left shoulder when your shoulders where grabbed by Shinichi, making your (e/c) eyes stared into his widened, unlike his which was narrowed in concern. "What happened to you?" You looked away with a deep swallow, your eyes starting to tear up as you stared out the window.

"Tell me! Why are there bruises all over your arm?!" You gave a small whimper and faced the ground, clinching your eyes shut along with your hands that where raised up in front of your chest.

"Shinichi?!" You and Shinichi both gave a faint gasp after hearing Murano run up the stairs, grabbing onto Shinichi's shoulders and pulled him away. "Shinichi, what are you doing?!" You whimpered again, picking up your book bag and sped walked down the stairs with small sniffles, hearing her mumble to him as you felt the cold, but concerned stare of his eyes.

After pushing open the door of the school entrance, you rolled down your sleeve with tears and soft sobs, running to who knows where. You slowed down your jogging in an ally, not a normal alley between two buildings either.

It was more of a rest area, there was a bench, where you sat at against a brick wall. There was graffiti on the other two walls, one beside connecting to the one you leaned against and the one in front of you.
