Chapter 5

Third Person

Rin just took off. From the time she started Sindria High, she never got upset unless someone talked ill on Yamraiha.

And Sinbad just upset her.

He didn't even know how. He sat where he landed and was being scolded by Yamraiha while Sharrkan was trying to calm her down.

"Calm down, Yamraiha. Let's just go see her later when she's cold off."

Yamraiha turned to him and said, "That isn't possible! When Rin gets upset she disappears for the rest of the day!" She took a breath to relax a little then looked to the ground and continued, "I've gone to her house and other places she likes when I knew she was upset but could never find her. She would then come to school the next day and act like nothing happened. Rin has trust issues and you," she said while turning to Sinbad, "keep trying to force your way in."

Sinbad looked to the ground. "I didn't mean to upset her though, I just want to be close to her..." he said with a sigh.

"Do you like her?" Yamraiha asked. Sharrkan snickered and put his arm around her, causing her to blush.

"More like he's infatuated. He's never tried so hard with a girl. If the girl showed no interest, he'd just move to the next."

Sinbad flinched. "Rin's different," he said, texting Rin and asking her to come back.

Sinbad: Please come back Rin...
Sinbad: I'm sorry, please respond
Sinbad: Rin?

He sighed, realizing that she wasn't going to respond. It upset him that she was upset. It made him more upset that he was the cause of it.

The current three decided that they would just stay at Sinbad's, talking about each other and a little bit about Rin. Talk about Rin was because Sinbad wanted to know more about her.

After a few hours, Sinbad's phone went off, then Yamraiha's did.

It was a text from Rin.

Convo with Sinbad
Rin: I am responding...
Sinbad: Where are you at?
Rin: Nowhere in particular...
Sinbad: Are you going to come back?

He didn't receive a response for a good while. He looked up at Yamraiha and Sharrkan as they were looking at her phone together. They were laughing at whatever was on her phone.

"She's pretty funny," Sharrkan commented.

"Who?" Sinbad asked.

"Rin is. She keeps sending jokes and memes to Yammy."

Sinbad was a bit jealous that Rin was texting them and wouldn't respond to him.

"Rin just told me she is with some friends..." Yamraiha said. "I wonder which friends? I hope she isn't with him..."

"Who?" Sinbad asked, curious to who this guy might be.

"A friend from Kou High. He's a bit... crazy."

"Our rival school? No way!" Sharrkan said, shocked. "Who is it?"

"I think his name was... Judar? But I hope I'm wrong about which friend she's with."

"Judar?" Sharrkan said, "You mean that guy that constantly messes with the mascots?" Yamraiha nodded her head.

Sinbad knitted his eyebrows and asked, "How would she know him?"

"She used to go to Kou High." Yamraiha's phone went off and she looked at the text, sighing in relief. "She's with friends named Hakuei and Kougyoku." She chuckled, saying, "They're forcing her into a, and I quote, 'a disgusting, pink, puffy dress that weighs a shit ton.'"

"Any idea where?" Sinbad asked, hoping to catch Rin in a dress.

"Nope, she's been gone several hours so she probably went onto the mainland. It's also Saturday so she's probably going to stay there."

Sinbad pouted in disappointment, thinking that Rin was having a blast with her Kou friends.

She was having fun... at least, she would after they leave the cursed dress store.

"Let's go do something else! Dress shopping is boring," Rin groaned.

"Come on Rin, just try one more then we'll go get dinner!" Kougyoku said excitedly.

"Fine." Kougyoku and Hakuei found a very pretty dress and Rin went to try it on.

The dress was... Beautiful, Rin thought. She hated dresses but this one actually took her breath away. She stepped out to show the other two with a straight face. She didn't want them knowing she liked the dress.

"I think someone likes it~" Kougyoku said excitedly.

"And we agree that it is beautiful on you!" Hakuei said.

With a sigh, Rin said, "Okay, okay. I think it's pretty but I still ain't getting it."

The two other girls sighed and they all left to go get dinner.

"I'm heading back home and possibly meeting Yamraiha for lunch tomorrow."

"Aw! But that's too soon!" Kougyoku said with a pout. "We never get to see each other often!"

"Why don't we meet at the game Friday night?" Hakuei asked.

"What game?" Rin asked while Kougyoku nodded, agreeing with Hakuei.

"The Kou vs Sindria basketball game." Rin looked at them, confused. Hakuei sighed, saying, "It's a home game for you so we'll meet you there. Hakuryuu would be happy to see you again."

"Okay," Rin said, "I don't normally go to games but we can meet there."
