Chapter 6

It was quite noisy at school today. I was sitting with Yamraiha and Sinbad along with some of his friends.

"Why the hell is everyone so noisy?" I asked, agitated.

"You mean, you don't know?" Sinbad asked. "Today's the game against Kou High."

After a moment of processing, I said aloud, "I have to meet them today..."

"Meet who?" Sharrkan asked.

"Some Kou friends at the game."

"What!? Kou friends?" Mystras said, "You're friends with the enemy!"

"It's just a basketball game, who cares if I have friends on the rival team?" With a sigh, I got up and left while they were getting louder.

I waited in front of the gym for Kougyoku and Hakuei. People started to go in, occasionally glancing at me since I don't normally go to games.

"You actually came!" a voice called out. As I looked up from my phone, a smaller body with the same hair as Kougyoku's hugged me.

"Hey, long time no see, Kouha," I said with a smile. The others came and we went into the gym.

I took a seat next to Yamraiha who happened to be there already and Hakuei and Kougyoku directly behind us.

"Look! Sharrkan is coming out!" Yamraiha said as the Sindrian Basketball team came out.

"The whole team is, not just him," I sighed. I looked back up to meet Sinbad's eyes, who just smiled at me and waved.

"Who does he think he is?" Kougyoku said with annoyance. She wrapped her arms around my neck in a protective manner while saying, "I'll keep you safe from his clutches, Rin."

I laughed a little too loud at her actions and Sinbad came over.

"Hey Rin," he said. He then looked behind me and his smile faltered slightly. "Kougyoku, it's good to see you again."

"Rin, can we come over today?" Kougyoku asked, hanging on me from behind. "All of us?"

"Sure, I don't see why not," I replied, turning my head slightly to face her. Soon after, another Kou High member came over.

"You old hag, get off of Rin."

"Now now Judar, no need to be mean," I scolded.

"Yeah, you should listen to Rin before I send her after you."

Judar's eye twitched, "I can handle her, you hag. I have to compete in a game right now but I'll be back." He turned and started to stomped away.

"Then why do you run every time I bring her up." He stopped and gave her a hard glare then continued.

"You two fight like a married couple," I sighed. I glanced up at Sinbad who happened to still be staring at me. "Don't you also have a game to get to?"

He turned and walked away, pausing briefly to look back at me. "What's up with him? He normally has a smile, whether it's fake or not."

"Maybe he's jealous of us being with you," Hakuei reasoned. I just shrugged and focused on the game.

Both teams were really good but I noticed my eyes kept glancing at Sinbad, whether he was playing or taking a break.

He seemed a bit agitated and so did the others on the team. When it was half time, I walked over to his team.

"Didn't they teach you that your team feels what you feel?" I asked, sighing in annoyance.

He turned with wide eyes towards me. "What do you mean?"

"You and a few others seemed agitated on the court. What's going on?"

Sinbad just stared at me for a good minute before he sighed and smiled at me. "Nothing, maybe the game is getting to me."

"That's a lie," I snapped with a scowl. "If you don't want to talk about it, at least leave it off the court."

He just continued to stare at me then smiled as he threw his arm around my shoulders. "Alright, Rin, I'll try my best."

"Good." I pulled away and was about to walk back to my seat when a hand pulled my pony tail. "Yipe! You bastard, I'm gonna-" I stopped when I turned to see Kouha.

"Why'd you talk to these guys when we're over there?" he said as he pointed over to the rest of the Kou team.

"I was making sure Sinbad was okay and besides that aren't you guys coming over tonight?"

"But Riiiiinn!" Kouha whined, "I don't want to wait that long..."

I chuckled and pushed him away. "See you later Kouha." I walked back to my seat and continued to watch the game.

When the game was finally over, Sindria had won.
