Batman walked out of the bar and onto the street once again, to see Rorschach standing at the edge of the sidewalk.
"Thinking?" Batman said, standing next to him.
"He said it wasn't road legal..." Rorschach responded.
"...so it wouldn't have gone on any of the main roads." Batman finished. "Would've stayed on the back streets of Old Gotham, going nowhere near the centre parts. Nothing was captured on Oracle's CCTV network, so it would've had to have been on a direct path- only certain streets in Gotham have no CCTV covering them, and they all happen to be in this part of Old Gotham."
"So the destination would've had to have been around here, then." Rorschach said. "And the hooded man, meeting with Kasady- probably Rat Gang employer."
"Indeed. We can scour the area for any potential locations with the Batmobile." Batman said, walking down the street to the car. He entered the driver's seat, with Rorschach jumping into the passenger seat. The cockpit closed, and the Batmobile's engine roared to life, and it lunged forwards down the road.
After an hour of searching different locations around Old Gotham, the Batmobile finally stopped in front of one of the final locations: an old garage shop. Batman and Rorschach got out of the Batmobile and walked toward the front door.
"The perfect place to hide something like that." Batman said, and he kicked the door down with a loud thud. The entire building was dark- even the streetlights were being blocked out by wooden boards in the windows. They walked in and over the fallen door.
Batman proceeded down the hall and Rorschach turned through a doorway on the left. Batman turned on his predator vision. Nobody in sight- the entire building was empty. He narrowed his eyes, but decided not to give up searching the building. From his utility belt he took out a small stick which had a small button on it. He pressed the button and a large amount of light was emanated from it. Walking down the hallway, he noticed that it was a dead end. To his left was a doorway which led into the garage section of the building. Observing the room, nothing looked out of the ordinary. Tyres lay strew about the place, a large shelf leaned against the wall, and dead lights dangled from the battered ceiling.
"Nothing much through there." Rorschach said, walking into the room with a flashlight of his own. "With one exception. Floorboards contained this." He threw something at Batman. He caught it and examined it. It was a rolled up piece of paper. On it was scribbled some sort of diagram.
"Try looking around the room for anything relating to this." He suggested. "We might find something of note here."
The two looked around the room, shining their torches in all the corners and crevices.
"Hurm." Rorschach sounded. Batman turned his head to him.
"Found something?"
"Possibly. Hard to tell." Rorschach responded, dropping his flashlight on the floor. He reached into a large split in the wall and felt around for something. Whilst he was doing this, Batman took another look at the piece of paper. The diagram depicted a large square with a smaller rectangle in it, with an even smaller circle inside of that. An arrow was also shown next to the circle. He narrowed his eyes, but widened them again at the realisation.
"Nothing in the wall." Rorschach irritably stated, taking his hand out of the wall and wiping his glove.
"I've got something." Batman exclaimed, stepping towards the centre of the room. He got down on one knee and knocked his knuckles against the floor. There was a slight hollow feel to it.
"There's something under here. Maybe another room or something, but it's definitely worth checking out." Batman said. Rorschach nodded.
"Let's search for anything to open it, must be something." He stated, picking up his flashlight and hastily looking around the room. Batman took out a small mine from his belt and placed it on the ground. He set the timer to 7 seconds. Rorschach turned to him and saw the explosive.
"Clumsy- could be people down there." He reasoned. Batman walked past him.
"There aren't- I checked. You might wanna move." He replied, and Rorschach quickly moved towards the other end of the room. A couple of seconds later it detonated with a surprisingly quiet sound. There was, however, a large hole in the floor, revealing a large platform a few feet down.
"Seems big enough for an armoured vehicle." Rorschach commented. Batman nodded.
"Let's see where this takes us." He responded, and they both jumped down onto the platform. Batman walked over to a small control panel and pressed the down button. Automated lights on the platform turned on, and Batman and Rorschach deactivated their flashlights and put them away.
When they reached the bottom, in front of them was a small tram and a large crane arm, seemingly strong enough to carry heavy loads like vehicles, Batman observed. They both stepped into the tram and pressed the button for it to go to its destination.
"Seems like a lot of money to put into something like this." Rorschach commented.
"Our mystery man appears to be very rich- clearly with the money to spare." Batman answered. "The crane arm would explain why it never left by road."
"Let's just hope they still have Kasady with them."
"If not, then we can still get some answers."
