"Unusual time of day for you to come out, is it not?"
Lex Luthor turned around from viewing Metropolis out of the window to see Batman make his way across the room to him.
"You have quite a lot to explain, Luthor." He told him. Luthor smirked.
"I have proven trustworthy on an occasion before, have I not?" He remarked.
"Hugo Strange and his experiment on Cletus Kasady." Batman began. "He was in direct work for you- meaning he also got direct funding from you."
Luthor nodded. "He did. I, however, did not know exactly what he was doing."
"Explain."
"Batman, we both know what's coming. Something bigger than any of us. So I got my top scientist and psychologist to prepare something for me- Hugo Strange. I paid him whatever he needed to conduct his experiments. I however did not know what he was doing."
"You never once wished to find out?"
"I had no reason to. I trusted Hugo, you could say. I didn't think he was going to do anything that could hurt my company's image. I trusted Hugo and his teams to do whatever they needed to do."
"Teams?"
"Ah, yes." He smirked. "He had two teams- one team working on Kasady- Carnage, I'm sure they dubbed it. Something to do with the symbiotic substance they had recovered from Oscorp. The other working on something so secret there are no digital files on it. Any physical ones on it are either hidden, destroyed or nonexistent. I do, however, know one thing: it is an experiment being conducted in the Arctic, of all places. Where in the Arctic, I am leaving up to you. That is, if you are going to investigate. Which, by your stubborn nature, is definite."
Batman glared at him, but turned around and left.
