"...but you promised." My voice comes out a little faint.
Supposedly, Jaein will accompany me in buying necessary stuff for travel such as a bag and travel pouches. The only bag I own is the one I use in school which might be a little small for travelling. Since I don't usually do shopping, I planned to drag my best friend for helpful opinions and suggestions. But when she showed up, she's completely dressed like she's going to a party.
"I know. I know. Grandpa suddenly called for a reunion since he won't be here for Nana's birthday." I see sincerity on Jaein's face. It's not like I can do anything. I'm just a little sad because I had it pictured in my head.
"Call me, okay!" She glances at me for the last time before going inside her mother's car.
Shopping alone isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Jaein made sure I won't get lost and provided me a list of the shops I should check and a map of the place. For fifteen minutes, I have been staring at the map, choosing where to go first.
First on the list: travel pouches
There's a mall near the place. Check the department store.
Oh, it will be a good day. I can feel it!
"Good morning! Welcome." A pretty lady greets me as I roam around the store.
The travel bags displays are in blue, gray, green, and pink. Some even have a floral design but nah, that ain't my style. If Jaein was here, she'd push me to go for that floral travel pouch. But not in my watch. I grab a set of gray travel bags. Go team neutral. Go team gray!
When choosing a travel bag, Jaein suggested that I should go for a duffel bag. It might be more expensive but quality must be considered as well. What design should I- Whatever. I getting the gray one.
"I'd get the gray one, please." Smiling as I ask the sales lady.
"One minute, Ma'am." She leaves for the storage room to get a new item.
I look at other designs as I wait for my bag. Hmm. Their backpacks aren't bad.
"Don't you think gray is too plain?" A male voice asks.
"Not really. I find it pretty." I answer without looking back at him. Busying myself checking the bags.
He chuckles. It sounds a little familiar for me too ignore. He's wearing denim jacket with a black inner shirt and, of course, a huge grin on his face. He goes beside me when he saw I already noticed him.
"What are you doing here?" I ask him.
"That's something I should ask you." He turns to me. "Why are you here alone?"
"My best friend ditched me," Telling him sadly but shaking my head. "Kidding. Something came up so she can't."
With eyes closed, he shakes his head slowly while waving his finger at me. "No, no. I don't think you should be left shopping alone. Let's just say I doubt your taste."
Why, this man...
"Ya! My preference isn't that bad." I yell at him.
"Uhm. I think otherwise."
"Get lost, Mingyu." I say as I immediately leave after taking the bag from the sales lady.
He grabs the gray duffel bag and throws me another one. An olive green duffel bag with brown leather. It does look nicer and appealing to me. But I still prefer the gray duffel back. I throw the green duffel bag back at him and went to get my initial choice.
"Thanks for the help but I still prefer this over-" Mingyu is standing at the cashier, paying for the green duffel bag. "Mingyu!"
He glances at me with a mischievous grin on his face. "I paid it already. Where do we go next?"
Didn't I wish for a good day? Now, I don't think that will happen.

"That will be ₩30,000 in total." The old lady tells me as she places the things I bought in a paper bag. Mingyu grabs the paper bag as I take some bills from my wallet.
My feet are hurting for walking all day from one shop to another. I'm still unsure whether I should be thankful for seeing Mingyu because he helped me in choosing my travel necessities but boy I am exhausted. He doesn't buy something just because he likes it. He'd go to other places to check then go back to the one he likes the most.
I shriek as I feel a something cold against my cheek. Mingyu stands in front of me, holding two cans of iced coffee. I take one as I offer a seat beside me.
"You sure you already bought everything?" He asks, taking a sip.
I nod at him, taking out the list Jaein made for me. Everything on the list is crossed out. I don't think I missed anything else. Hmm.
"Ha. I am so tired. You are blessed with long legs. Jealous midget here." Laughing as I point at myself.
He stares at me, seemingly observing me from head to toe. "Nah. I think you're not that small.."
Well, how nice of you. Thank-
"But you might be."
Nevermind.
He places his drink beside him as he checks his phone. It must be someone important because he pressed call in an instant after reading the message.
"Ya. Am I your personal shopper?"
"Where are you?"
"Buy what? No, lazy bum. Get out of the house and buy it yourself."
"I'm not at home."
"What? Okay, fine. But you owe me a French homework. Deal?"
Sighing, he takes his phone away from his ear. "He even got a girl but he can't buy-"
"Go," I tell him. "You have other stuff to do."
"You know what," He stands up, grabing my arm. "I'd appreciate some company."
We stop in front of a toy store. Mingyu heads in and I follow him. His eyes search the store. I asked him what he's going to buy in a toy store for but he is too busy looking for it. He grabs two bunny plushies, facing me and calling my attention.
"Which one?"
One is a white bunny. Looking at it reminds me of the first snow. It also gives hint of romance. The other is a brown bunny with a crown.
"Don't ask me. They're both cute so.."
"Whatever. I'm taking both."
"Don't you think it's too early for a valentine's gift?" I ask while waiting in line at the cashier.
One message from JK
JK?
I shifted my gaze from Mingyu to my phone. He rarely sends me a message. Either it's about work...
"Don't be late."
Or about work. Of course. It's about the shoot.
He rolls his eyes mockingly. "Hey, that's offensive. My friends have but I don't. I'm a good boy."
"Good boy, my ass."
