it was about 9pm so not too late when my phone went off, it was jeff, the only friend i've managed to make since i moved here

nothing much clay just went to get a drink so i thought i'd see what you're doing
but he's back now so i have to go, fancy meeting up later ?

i wasn't typically excited, i just needed to get my mind off justin, jeff befriended me during free period on my first day and he seems nice, i have no feelings for jeff and he knows that we're just friends, plus he has his eye on a specific girl.

i changed into jeans and kept on my liberty high hoodie, slipped on some vans and got in my car

me and jeff were sitting on the swings just talking, school stuff and how he's gonna get his girl. 
"so you gonna ask her to the dance coming up"

"maybe i don't know i'm nervous, what if she says no"

"anybody who says no to jeff atkins is crazy and stupid"

"is that why you didn't say no to coming to the park"

"maybe, but i'm still slightly stupid and crazy"

"really" jeff said raising his eyebrows

"okay maybe slightly is an understatement" i chuckled

"how was studying with clay?" i asked

"it was good, the boys a good kid, it's a shame nobody takes the time out to really get to know him"

"yeah, such a shame, he seems like a very keep to himself sort of boy"

"yeah totally is"

"so you planning on joining any clubs or anything?" asked jeff

"i'm trying out for cheer tomorrow and volleyball on Friday, seeming as they're the only two that don't clash with each other, but i really wanna do basketball"

"ahh kate's gonna be a cheerleader, also we don't have a girls basketball team" jeff smirked

"are you being serious"

"i know, we used to but not many girls signed up so it got cut"

"oh well that sucks" i said noticing two other people walking into the park

"yo justin"

"aye jeff what you doing here"

"just hanging out, with kate"

"ohh is this a thing now?" he questioned pointing between the two of us

"no no noooo not at all" me and jeff said in unison

"what about you two?" i asked

"could be the start of something" justin smirked at hannah as she blushed a crimson colour

"alright well we're gonna get going, see you tomorrow at practice yeah"

"yeah see ya jeff, bye kate"

"bye justin, bye hannah"

we took a little walk back to my car and jeff knew something was up

"you like justin"

"what" I scoffed

"it's obvious, the way you look at him, your smile, your eyes light up"

"i do not, shut up" i said playfully pushing him

"if it makes you feel better you're all he's talked about since you joined"

"then why's he out with hannah"

"who knows" jeff shrugged
