i'd probably been walking down this bright white corridor for about 10 minutes now and nothing absolutely nothing, i was running out of luck when my phone began to ring, startling me

i checked the caller id to see it was only justin

"hey, i'm fine i'm coming back now, the toilet's just really far away" i lied, i don't know him well enough to explain why i'm so tense, i mean i trust him and all but there's still just so much that happened in my past, i'm not sure if he'd wanna stick around after hearing all of it

"yeah okay but your mom's gone missing"

"what the fuck, what do you mean missing"

"well, they're claiming she's missing, apparently she went to find jase and hasn't come back"

"oh my god" i mumbled as the door behind me creaked, i began rushing to the end of the hall

"justin"

"yes"

"i need you to look around and tell me if you can see anybody in a hoodie, or someone who looks too sketchy to be here"

"kate what's going on"

"please just trust me on this one"

"um okay well no, everyone here is in suits" he stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world

"okay, well then look at shoes, if you spot anything out of the ordinary drop me a text"

"why would i need to tex-" and i hung up i couldn't be dealing with that right now

i sped down the corridor constantly checking behind me and trying to call jase at the same time

when i suddenly heard a phone ringing from a random door

i took a deep breath and slowly peeked through the slightly open door

only to spot a stressed out jase declining my call, i tapped him on the shoulder to turn him around when suddenly he hurriedly held a gun up to my forehead

i placed my hand over the front lowering it as he engulfed me in a hug

"fuck sorry i though you were him"

"he's here? how the fuck does he even know where we are?"

"i don't know but i lost my date"

"what do you mean 'lost'"

"they split us up, obviously i've been through this i know what i'm doing, her on the other hand"

"fuckk, who was your date?"

"hannah"

"as in hannah baker?" i questioned shocked

"yes hannah baker, is there any other hannah's in our year?" he asked sarcastically

"jheeezz i'm not the enemy here chill out"
