It was 1:15 pm when Delta woke up. Events of last night's dinner came rushing back to her.

"Could I have been more embarrassing"

She sighed and got off the bed to go to the restroom. Something made a crumpling sound under her feet. It was a paper that looked school related. Despite her interest in school, she read what it was about anyway.

"Monday 13th..blah blah blah..project partner...IT WILL BE GRADED AS YOUR FINAL MARK! Seriously, I have not even found a partner and that's due tomorrow. This day has officially sucked."

Delta went to the bathroom as she did her daily routine to start off the afternoon. Her outfit was plain. It was a pair of acid wash jeans with a Mickey Mouse shirt and a pair of jeans fabric Supra sneakers. Her hair was pulled up in a bun. The baby face she once had was taking over by acne which meant no make up.

"A little lip gloss and mascara won't hurt"

With that she slung her bag across her body and went to the kitchen. There was a Sandwich waiting for her and a glass of Welch's juice.

"Hmm,mom soo loves me",she took a bite of her chicken sandwich.

"Mom!",she yelled. The house was really quiet. Her brother Lane was at a friend's house for the weekend and her mother.. Well she was trying to find that out. "She probably went to her friend's or something",she shrugged taking a sip of juice.

As she sat at the island, something caught her eye out the window. Reid. He was leaning on his car, texting away on his phone. His brown hair glistened in the sun. His muscles were visible through his Navy blue shirt. He had on grey shorts and flats.

"Wow. He looks just as good as food does."

Her face lit up indicating she had an idea. Delta hurriedly drank the rest of her juice. She wanted to catch up with Reid before he left. Last night's dinner came to her mind and she remembered his not so joyous face. It will be a great way of getting to know more about him, and filling in for her curiosity about his rapid mood change. The door was locked behind her and in no time she was standing in his drive way.

"Hi there,"she greeted.

"Hey Delta. What's up",he ask not looking up from his phone.

"Umm,jus heading out to my friend's house. I have this project thingy due for tomorrow and I need a partner. I totally forgot about it. So..I stopped by to say hi."

There was only the sound of Reid's finger tips against the screen of his iPhone. Delta was squeezing the bottle of water she had in her hand, feeling like she just rambled about something he had no interest in. She tried to steal  a glance at his phone but he was already putting it away. Quickly she looked away finding his car all of a sudden the most interesting thing ever.

"It's okay Delta, he chuckled. I saw you trying to look.

Instantly her face gradually went red. She played with the cap of the bottle not knowing what to say.

"I'm sorry,it's kind of a habit. I heard every word you said, just did not reply. My dad hates it. I can't text and talk at the same time. It's distracting."

"Ever heard of multi tasking. It saves a lot of time.

"Yh,maybe. So, thanks for stopping by, by the way.  I wish you luck on that project. Do you need a lift,I'm going to the grocery store."

"Sure thanks. I have my own car but something went wrong so my mom brought it to mechanics."

They were on the road as Delta gave him directions to Dairra's.

"So..,wanna tell me why you looked so gloomy last night,"she turned to face him.

"My dad",was all he said.

"O..k,care to go any further with just those two words?"

"Nope",emphasizing on the 'p'.

Delta turned away facing outside her window. Sooner or later she'll find out his situation.
