She was like an angel. If she sung like one does I wouldn't be surprised. Ara just seemed like she was a living angel, living right next door to me. To be honest I probably sound really ridiculous babbling over a girl I only spoke to for an hour to last night. I feel ridiculous. But it was nice being able to express everything and talk about it.
Currently I'm getting ready for school and I can not for the life of me get her off my mind. I pull a grey fitted shirt over my head, slip on a pair of jeans, and grab my bag, heading for the door. Once I'm in my car I pull my phone out and glance at it seeing about 5 missed texts.
Ara: 'morning neighbor'
Axle: 'Dude I need a ride to school this morning Rayce left me AGAIN.'
Rayce: 'HAHAHA DONT GIVE AXLE A RIDE. THIS IS KARMA'
Veronica: 'Hey there sexy ;) wanna meet up before school'
At the last one I cringe and quickly delete it before reading the final one.
Mom: 'Hey honey. Do you still plan to go on vacation with your father and I next month? We've already paid for everything so we don't want to waste it.'
I let out an exasperated sigh and call her instead of texting. It takes a few rings but she eventually picks up.
"Oh sweetheart, I'm so glad you called. Did you get my text?" My mother say chirpily.
"Yeah about that. I'm not sure I want to go on a trip with two people who are getting ready to get divorced and hear them argue the entire time. I love you mom but I just don't wanna go through that." I tell her.
"That's alright honey. If you change your mind just give me a call. Anyway. How are you doing with Marcus? I hope he's not being too crazy and I know it's not ideal but he's the only one I trust right now."
"It's alright. I'm doing pretty okay. I met one of the neighbors last night. She's pretty nice. But in all reality how is it Marcus is the only one you trust?"
"He's my brother, Knightley. It was your father that overreacted to what happened." She says quietly with a sigh.
"Mom! He drove drunk with Amelia in the car! He wrecked and killed her! How was dad not overreacting?!"
"Damn it! Knightley James Jackson you of all people know that it was not his fault! He had one drink! One! That other car came out of nowhere! Now if you think your attitude hasn't hurt him enough think about all the guilt he's felt over the past three years! Now I don't care what you're doing I want you to march your ass over to wherever he is and apologize about your sorry attitude! He is still your uncle despite everything. And if you don't I will turn your phone off for the next two months!" She yells over the phone.
"Yes ma'am. I'm sorry mom." I mumble.
"Good. Now have a great day at school honey." With that she hangs up.
I make a mental note to apologize after school so that I'm not late today. Shooting a quick text to Axel telling him I'll be there soon, I hurry and pull out of the drive way.
*~*~*~*
"Okay so I'm going to assume you and Rayce are in some sort of prank war again? Try not to get me involved again this time bro." I tell Axle the minute he sits in the passenger seat of my car.
"I can't make any promise man. Plus Belle and Syd are going to get dragged into it probably, so who knows where it'll all go."
"Oh. Speaking of her. How is your friend Belle?" I ask him.
