I sighed for the hundredth time and eyed my phone which was lying on the marble  kitchen table.

 Where the helicopter is Holly?

I got up from the chair and picked up the  phone. Scrolling until I found her number, I called for what seemed like the hundredth time.

"Pick up the phone, Holly" I muttered. The line rang a few times before-

"BONJOUR! Holly here-"  I sighed in frustration as it went straight to voicemail and cut the call . She'd told me she was going shopping and then to her parents house, but she hadn't returned even after four hours. And Holly was not the kind of person who'd ignore her best friend's calls while shopping.

Did her parents fight again?  The thought hadn't crossed my mind yet, but considering the possibilities, the likelihood of their hostilities were many.

I ran my hand through my  chestnut hair angrily and close my eyes trying to keep my wig on. Pinching the bridge of my nose, I got my car keys and left our apartment. I wasted no time in getting into my Charger and zipping my way through the streets to her parents' place.

Shortly I was standing in front her parents house, but before I could ring the bell I heard a howl from the distance. I whipped my head towards the sound,  my hair hitting my face and that was when I caught a scent. Holly's scent.

I left my car parked there and started running at a supernatural speed towards the direction of the fragrance, everything passing  in a blur.

As I reached the forest, the scent became faint for some reason. There were also other stronger smells that were mixing with hers, making it even more difficult to concentrate on her scent. Even though my senses were stronger than usual due to the full moon peeking from behind the clouds, I couldn't focus on Holly's scent.

Suddenly, I heard a howl. It was one that reeked of authority, probably an Alpha's. I supposed it was from the Alpha of the pack that resided in the woods. After that, there was silence except the sound of owl's hooting.

I started going in the direction of the howl. I definitely wasn't thinking right; that howl had messed with my wolf, because she was going crazy. As I rushed forward, Holly's scent became stronger once again. My blood froze. I didn't want her to be in the packs territory.

In a tick I was at a pack boundary; I could see all the warriors standing in their place doing there duty. It reminded me of when I used to live with my pack, before they were killed.

Shaking my head to clear it of all memories of nostalgia, I could smell her scent again. I didn't think twice before rushing towards it, even if it meant going into a pack's territory without the Alpha's permission. Holly was more important.

Adrenaline rushed through me as I dared a glance behind to see some bulky warriors running after me. There were more warriors in front of me: I was trapped. The sudden idea of managing to escape them caused me to smile.

"DONT MOVE, SHE -WOLF," one of the warriors screamed at me. Ignoring him, I turned around and hastened away towards the right. The look of anger on their faces nearly caused me to laugh. Soon, I was inside what I assumed to be the pack house, the place where her scent was.

"Holly!" I yelled. I tried to  catch her scent to know where exactly she was. I began to run again as I hear the warriors coming behind me.

I was running along a long  corridor when I found her scent again, stronger than ever. Checking multiple rooms in my way, I tried in vain to find Holly.

"DON'T YOU DARE GO UPSTAIRS, ROUGUE," I hear one of them growl, which of course causes me to go upstairs . As I ran up the stairs, Holly's scent grew stronger. Soon I was standing in front of several doors which look the same. I stopped in front of the room where Holly's scent was, immediately opening the door to find my best friend.

I gasped at the sight of Holly laying down on a queen size bed, her forehead wrapped in bandages and her  left arm fractured. I removed my gaze from her and looked at the girl who was standing near the bed with her claws out which only made my blood boil. I narrowed my eyes at her and walked towards her.

"What have you done to Holly?"I say calmly as I can. She rolls her brown hazel eyes and points  her index finger at Holly.

"Well, we found her like this unconscious inside her damaged car and-" The girl stops when we hear a powerful growl. Then, I smell  most stupendous scent. Cinnamon and coffee. I slowly turned around.

I don't know who I thought it was, but what I found were glowing sea-green eyes looking at me, his chiseled  jaw clenched, and his jet black hair messy yet amazing. He was  wearing black skinny jeans with a white v- neck shirt and to finish off the look, he sported a leather jacket. Typical bad boy outfit, the typical guys that I disliked. Yet, my wolf yelped in happiness as I inhaled his addicting scent again.

 I had found my mate.

As if to prove it, he growled in a low voice that only I could hear.

 "Mine."
