In John when Jesus was talking to Nicodemus, John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jesus went to the homes of his friends. One of them was Lazarus of Bethany and his two sisters, Mary and Martha. Lazarus became sick and died before Jesus arrived. John 11:35-Jesus wept. ( one of the shortest verses in the Bible) verse 36 Then said the Jews, behold how he loved him! Jesus raised Lazarus from the grave.
Jesus told his disciples in John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him. Verse 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and make our abode with him. Verse 28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto my Father: for my Father is greater than I.
John 15:9 As my Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. Verse 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love: even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. Verses 12,13 this is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Verse 17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.John 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
John 17 The Lord's prayer to his Father in verses 23-26 I in them , and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one: and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
