Doctor or Savior

Chapter 8: Discharge

Emma Pov:

I walk back upstairs to House's office but Wilson stops me before I enter. He takes me to his office to talk for a minute. Once he closes the door he embraces me in a hug

"I'm very sorry about your brother Allison, House told me his prognosis"

"He wants you to convince me to let him die here right?"

"You know House, he is obsessed with finding an answer"

"Sometimes you don't get to understand everything" I say frustrated

"You know House can't accept that"

"Wilson you can't seriously expect me to keep my dying brother here just to appease House"

"No of course not, but after would you consider sending him an autopsy report"

I hesitate for a minute "yes, I guess I can do that" I'll have to figure out a way to make a convincing one

"So that must mean you're leaving"

"It really was nice to see you again Wilson, I wish we got more time to catch up. But I have to go"

"Well maybe we can see each other some other time. Do you live around here?"

"No actually I live in Maine"

"I've heard it's beautiful up there"

"It can be"

"Is that your polite way of telling me we can't see each other"

"I left this life behind me, It's difficult to explain but it would be better if we didn't see each other. Sometimes I do miss this old life though"

"Do you work in a hospital in Maine?"

"I actually work as a bails bonds women now, still the thrill of solving the puzzle"

"I'm glad you're happy, it was nice to see you"

"You too, goodbye James"

"Goodbye Allison"

I hug him tightly than leave his office. I miss my conversations with Wilson, he was always a great friend to me. I head into Houses office to confront him about the discharge papers. I find Chase sitting alone at the table

"Chase" I say grabbing his attention

"Allison" he says turning around

"I'd like the discharge paper for my brother, and for Killian Jones"

"Right, well I have Jones' papers here for you to sign. House has the others, he is trying to avoid letting you sign them..........So you're going home then"

"Yes, I need to get my brother home"

"Do you live far"

"We live up in Maine"

"And you live with......."

"Yes I do"

"Are you getting married?"

"No..........maybe one day. Are you married?"

"No, I haven't been married since you"

"Neither have I...........it's been nice to see you"

"I missed you Alison, maybe I'll see you again someday"

"Someday maybe"

I sign the discharge papers and give them to Chase. He stands up and we hug
