Doctor or Savior

Chapter 4: OR

Emma pov:

I walk inside House's office which looks exactly the same but with a newer white board. Thirteen and Taub are sitting at the table reading through files

"Hello people, I have our family history right here" House says as he gestures to me

"Dr. Cameron" Taub asks

"Yes it's her. She is the sister of our patient here so this is the family history" House says

"What do you guys need to know"  I say and sit down when Thirteen looks at me. She knows I should be resting

"Any history of heart disease" thirteen asks

"Not that I know of"

"That's not helpful Cameron. We need you to know" House says

"Honestly my brother and I have never met our parents so I don't have a family history for you" Emma says. She can't tell the doctors that reason she doesn't have a family history is because doctors didn't exist where her father was born.

"Well what do you know" House asks even more intrigued at my story

"I say run an ANA panel based upon the symptoms"

"She's right it could be autoimmune" Thirteen says

"Fine let's listen to the immunologist" House says annoyed. Thirteen and Taub go to collect blood from David. They leave me alone with House in an uncomfortable silence as he stares at me until I decide to break it

"House can I take your card"

"My card"

"Yes your ID to let me into the OR's"

"Why, you feel like being a surgeon today. Miss the high of cutting people open?"

I roll my eyes at him "No, I'm looking for someone"

"Fine but I'm coming with you"

"Why"

"Well obviously I want to know who you're looking for. Is it a special someone, maybe the father of your baby"

"How the hell do you know about that" I say angrily

"Did you think that I wouldn't check your medical records when you come into this hospital"

"You're an ass"

House walks out of the office and towards the direction of the OR's and I follow him out the door

"Which OR" House asks

"Cuddy said OR 2 and OR 3"

"Two OR's"

"Well I'm looking for two people"

"You have two fathers of your child"

"No House"

"Well the OR 3 gallery is closed for something, I wasn't paying attention to what Cuddy said"

So we walk into the gallery of OR 2. I look down in the room and see Chase operating. The patients face isn't completely covered. I see jet black hair and immediately I know who is on the table. I stare down at the table intently. House looks at me with a knowing smile on his face. He buzzes down to the OR and talks to Chase

"Hello Dr. Chase"

"House I'm busy what do you need" Chase says annoyed

"I thought it might interest you to know who you are operating on"

"Shut up House" I snap "don't you dare distract him"
