The wind whipped through the landscape of the mountains. It had gotten drastically warmer these last few moons, not that anyone was complaining. That meant that more people were venturing out and more prey for those who hunted, to hunt. The only thing that would make it better was that if the aurora of everything was shaken up. Nothing was as it should be, at least not for those who had the intune power for seeing it.
On top of one of the mountains was a gray and black male wolf. He wasn't too impressive to look at, especially now, but he had once been. He was medium sized with deep blue eyes that were cold and never flickered with any sort of emotion. He had very thick fur that was conducive to where he used to live, not exactly where he lived now in Nepal. He panted heavily with his tongue nearly sliding out from his slightly yellow teeth that showed that he hadn't been taking care of himself as much as he should've been. But, he had a feeling that that was about to change.
He heard someone coming up from behind him and he sunk his claws into the ground. The fur along his spine stood on end, even though he knew exactly who was behind him without even having to look. He turned his head to see a medium sized clouded leopard with pale yellow eyes and long claws.
"It's time," she stated firmly as she dipped her head to the male wolf.
The male wolf didn't say anything as he rose to his paws and bounded after the she-cat. They could've easier traveled in a different direction, but they decided to just walk it. They didn't speak as they walked, since there was no real reason to. They continued down the mountain and into the tangle of people everywhere. It used to bother the male wolf, but he was so used to it by now, he could usually ignore everyone to a certain extent.
They came over to one of the buildings and the leopard reared on her hind legs, scraping her claws down the door, hearing it screech under her paws. The male wolf twitched one ear at the sound, struggling not to cringe right away.
The door opened and she squeezed herself through. The male wolf followed right after, allowing the door to slam shut right behind him. The leopard thrust her paw forward as if she was inviting the male wolf forward, even though he been living here longer than she had.
"You know how much I hate that sound," he growled in a deep and gravely voice as if he hadn't spoken in years.
There was a purr of affection from the leopard. "I know that you do. Did you ever think that that could be why I do it," she teased as she continued forward with him at her side.
They headed into the middle of the temple. A few people bustled past them, saying different greetings in difference languages as they passed. The leopard dipped her head as they passed, turning to the male wolf when she noticed that he had not. "You know, you could work on being more polite, just a suggestion."
"I am polite," growled the male wolf as he fixed the leopard with a stern gaze. "People just aren't patient enough to see it."
"No one is that patient," gasped the leopard as she bounded forward before the wolf could cuff her around the ear. He followed her the rest of the way until the two of them sat down patiently, waiting for what they knew would occur next.
"Sergantis, Indarra, welcome."
The two dipped their heads as a fishing cat came forward. It was about the same size as the clouded leopard, but she was certainly a lot stronger than the clouded leopard.
"Greetings, Master Magister," chorused both the wolf and the leopard.
The fishing cat came forward, her paws sinking delicately against the ground. She smiled as she looked at the two of them, turning to the leopard. "Indarra, could you give Sergantis and I a second?"
