Jim is running out of excuses to talk to the cute mechanic down the road. He's given his truck tyres so many punctures he might as well buy new ones. When he's caught red handed, in the...
Jim rolled over on his bed grabbing at the sheets in frustration with a groan. It's been two weeks since Beau brought Jim home and Jim can't find a way to get Beau to consider him more than a fortnightly fuck.
It's been well over a year since Jim and Beau have been hooking up and despite all the common sense Jim had he still went and fallen in love with Beau. Emotionally unavailable Beau.
Jim had tried texting Beau but when he received one worded replies like 'okay' and 'cool' Jim thought he shouldn't make an absolute fool of himself anymore. One sided conversations sucks ass in Jim's book. It leaves him feeling clingy and a bit of a psycho.
Jim needed to talk to Beau like he needed air in his lungs. Beau was an enigma to Jim. A fucking rubix cube that he couldn't solve, a freaking lightning bolt he couldn't catch and an itch no amount of scratching could satisfy.
"Gah!" Jim rolled over once again and flew off the bed. There is only one way Jim knew to talk to Beau and that's at the garage. Grabbing a kitchen knife Jim goes outside remembering Beau was on to something when he mentioned about the screw driver boring holes in his tyres.
Jim scoped out his truck. He walked around the thing twice before settling on the back left side. Jim asked his truck's forgiveness and sunk the knife into the rubber and pulling it out. Listening as the air escaped, Jim looked up and froze in trepidation as the knife slid from his hand.
Staring at him was Beau. Angry-as-hell looking Beau. Jim shook all over in fear his mouth opening and no amount of air could get him to speak.
Beau narrowed his eyes and shook his head, disappointment replacing his anger and Jim felt his heart explode. The anger he could deal with but the disappointment he saw crushed his hopes.
"Beau," Jim finally whispered.
"Beau," Jim called again but Beau just shook his head once more, hands stuffed inside the pockets of his coat.
Taking a step forward Jim was immediately immobilized when Beau took a step back. Jim felt as if he couldn't breathe another breath of air. His eyes filled with tears when Beau continued stepping back.
"Stay away from me Jim," Beau says with a voice hard as granite. Like a hammer coming down on him and shattering his feelings Jim stood trembling trying to come up with some kind of words to explain this whole mess when Beau gave his back to Jim.
"Beau!" Jim called but Beau never turned around, he never even indicated if he heard Jim's broken call.
Jim has never been a guy that cried a lot but damn did it feel as if he could never stop now that the dam has broken.
Jim curled up on his bed soaking the sheets for days. The only thing that got inside his stomach was booze and no amount of whiskey numbed his pain.
All Jim wanted was to talk to Beau and tell him how much he loves him. Nothing else. Maybe then Beau would understand why Jim maimed his tyres.
With that bit of hope Jim tried calling Beau every day for a week but the man never answered. He texted too but he didn't even get a one worded response and when he passed by Beau's garage the following Monday the place was closed. Oh God, Beau really didn't want to talk to him.
Jim got in his truck and drove off glancing at Beau's shop one last time. His hope dashed. Wiping away a stray tear Jim slowly drove out of town. Turning his head to the left Jim stepped on the brakes and squealed to a stop.
Beau's car was parked on the side of the road by that cute little coffee shop they run into each other at sometimes and a stupid, stupid thought flashed through Jim's mind.
Taking his screw driver Jim looked around and punctured Beau's tyre, both front and back on the left side, the only way he knew how to get Beau's attention and a conversation from the man.
