There are a few things you need before you get a guinea pig: a small starter guinea pig cage, a food bowl, a water bottle(for them to drink), a few toys for the guinea pig to chew on, and bedding.
When you are looking for the right guinea pig, make sure don't get one that you feel bad for just because it is sick or injured, you would be really stressed out trying to make it happy. Find a guinea pig that looks happy and healthy.
Sometimes it is good to get two guinea pigs, although, if two males were together, they would probably fight a lot. But it could work out. It would work out better if two females were together. Of course if you wanted to breed, you would get a male and a female.
