The day that Liza came again, Lance was shredded in ways he didn't think possible. He missed his family so much that it hurt. But if he let Baxter out and he was lying about reformation, then his family was going to be the first on his hit list. He sunk down into a depression like he had been in years ago when he realized that this would take longer than expected. Baxter had left him alone since that last conversation. It wasn't like him and it put Lance on edge. He didn't know what direction to go, if any. It was driving him nearly insane.
Liza came stumbling into his barrier that wasn't much of a barrier anymore, looking harried. He wondered what would have her so worked up.
"Liza! What's going on? Why do you look so rushed?"
"Dad! We have a plan! You have to do what I tell you, and you have to do it fast."
His heart leapt.
"Okay, what is it?"
"Dad, you have to release the criminal mentally, and wake up."
His heart stopped.
"What?"
"Just listen, Dad, please. When you wake up, you need to make sure the criminal dies."
"You want me to kill a man? Does the General know about this?" He didn't think the General would ever go for this.
"Dad, please. It's the only way."
"Honey, I want to work with you, but you need to give me more details."
"There's no time! Dad, you have to do as I say. We only have minutes before we can't do this. Once he's loose, we'll hold him until the other person arrives."
"What other person?"
"The one that's going to solve everything. He or she will be able to fix this."
"He or she? You don't know who it is?"
"Not yet. Quinn's helping me. Can you do it, Dad? Please?"
"After so long." Mr. Aberdeen looked at his daughter. To be back with his family after so very long. "Okay."
"I'll meet you on the other side. Dad, I love you."
