The airport was very crowded; amidst the crowd was a messy, exhasusted (Y/N). Your hair was sticking out in weird places and your expression showed that you were completely done with everything. That flight was too long. You were leaning against your piled-up trolley, while pushing it through the isle. Your tired eyes were searching for a board with your name. Your parents said that someone would pick you up from the airport.
It better not be written in Hangul.
Your reading was not fluent; it took you quite a while to recognise letters. You were not completely in touch with your roots -- you lived in America for your entire life, after all. Your parents enforced Korean culture on you, but they stopped after a while -- you whined quite a lot due to their constant nagging. Stopping the Korean culture was something you wished they hadn't done. Now you knew how important it was.
(L/N) (F/N)
<In Hangul> (L/N) (F/N)
That was it-- your name; written in both Hangul and English. How convenient. You rushed over to the person hiding behind the sign and tapped his shoulder in anticipation. Finally, you found your ride home.
"Ah, excuse me?" You asked in polite terms.
The male turned around, and gave you a huge smile. It was your uncle. He had come to the airport to personally pick you up! He had that cheerful smile, his eyes showing all the happiness, since his favorite niece had finally arrived.
"(Y/N)-ie!"
That was a nickname you hadn't heard in a few years.
"Nice to see you again, uncle."
He pulled your cheeks, and you made a face. You had to get used to that if you were going to stay with him for a while. You know how much he loves to treat you like a child.
"You've grown so big! How is my little sister?" He pat your head, smiling.
Bang (Y/M/N), your mother. Your uncle was Bang Si-hyuk, your mother's elder brother. He was living the dream, being the president of a now huge enertainment company in Seoul. You felt quite lucky to be staying at his grand place. He had sent you pictures of his home, and it got you very excited.
"Eomma* is fine. She hopes you are doing well." You answered, giving him a tired smile.
He took your trolley after nodding, and started pushing it to the exit of the arrival hall. Korea was still dark-- it was 12 am after all. You walked out into the cool atmosphere, sending shivers down your spine.
"Cold right? You should have worn something thicker," Your uncle almost scolded.
"Uncle, don't blame me for not checking the weather before coming here!" You pouted, trying your best to stay warm.
You rubbed your bare legs together. Shorts were really a bad option to wear in this time of year. It was a good thing you wearing a hoodie. Your hands tightly wrapped around your torso, while you heard your uncle ramble on about how he was managing a group working for him.
What was their name again? Bangtalk- something?
You just didn't care at this point. You wanted to sleep. Alhough, as soon as a sleek black BMW pulled near the sidewalk, your tiredness seemed to disappear for a moment. The perks of being the niece of the president of a company. The driver stepped out, and you were soon pushed into the warmth of the car. You slid across the cream-colored seats, and let out a sigh. That was a relief.
"I can't wait for you to meet my boys tomorrow. I haven't told you about them yet, so it's going to be a huge surprise," He rambled, taking a breath in between.
"Mhmm..."
Your forehead was resting against the cold glass, and your eyes were starting to flutter shut. Maybe you payed attention to the last part. Maybe you were excited to meet them. After all, your friend said you are going to be surrounded by cute guys, might as well acknowledge them. A smile twitched up the sides of your lips for a moment, before you drifted off into a deep sleep.
-- NEXT MORNING --
"(Y/N)-ie~!"
You groaned and covered your head with the white pillow. You were still half-asleep. This time difference is going to kill you. You pushed your upper body from the now messy bed, and ran your fingers through your (H/C) hair.
"What time is it?" You asked in a coarse voice.
You had spoken in the mix of Korean and English again. The disadvantages of living overseas. You could understand Korean perfectly, but your speaking needed some work. Sentences were something you thought long and hard about, before you actually said it. Even when you did that, you still ended up using a few English words.
"Almost nine. The boys are already there, and doing some dance practice! I can't wait to introduce you to them."
With that coo of excitement, you slammed the door shut, and his footsteps quickly tapped against the wooden door. You huffed and got up. If you want to get a normal sleep schedule, you have to wake up now. You first sank into the warm matress and you pushed yourself up and off the bed.
"That's all?" Your uncle questioned your outfit choice.
"Good morning to you too, uncle,"
Your sarcastic reply put a smile to your uncle's face.
"If you ever freeze to death, just remember it's your own fault."
"Yeah, yeah..."
You looked at the chopsticks and then at the various things you had for breakfast. Your chopstick skills were still no good. Usually, you would just give them up halfway through the meal your mom made before just using the spoon and fork.
Hesitantly, you picked up the chopsticks and stabbed them into the cut omelet cubes on the side of your plate. Your eyes glanced up from the kitchen island to your uncle, who is speaking on the phone. At least he isn't going to laugh at you. Letting out a curse word in English, you just ate it the way you would -- with a little bit of hardwork and spoon.
"Are you done with breakfast, (Y/N)?"
"Yes, yes."
Your plate was messy by the end, and you had a little bit of kimchi on the side of your lips. At least you finished all of the food that was made for you. You quickly put the plate away, before you were led outside by your uncle. It was finally time to meet this band he was talking about.
I hope they're nice people...
