Paige pulled at the handcuff on her wrist. Her best friend had cuffed her to the basement door handle so she could be in the kitchen to overlook her cooking dinner. Whenever Jenni cooked on her own, she would end up either burning the food to a crisp or setting the place on fire. 

Jenni's parents left on their vacation earlier than planned, so they were completely alone. The thought sent a shiver down Paige's spine. She didn't like that they had the house to themselves, since Jenni was now a criminal who was harbouring a kidnapped celebrity in her basement.

"Why can't you just order take-out?" Paige asked curiously.

"Because I don't want Josh to think that we don't eat right," Jenni replied.

"I doubt he'd care," Paige said. "I think he's more focused on the rope burns."

"About them," Jenni said. "Where can I get burn cream?"

Paige frowned. "I don't know!" she exclaimed. "The burn cream shop?"

Jenni didn't look like she appreciated the sarcasm. "I'll ask Ingrid and Ray when they get here then," she muttered. Paige rolled her eyes. Oh yes, they were going to stay over now that Jenni's parents were gone. Whoopie(!) Paige watched her friend fill the pan with hot water and stick it on the correct ring on the oven, still pulling on her wrist in an attempt to free it.

"You know what I found out on google?" she asked.

Jenni shook her head. "No, what?"

"That you can be arrested and kept in prison for several years if ever caught kidnapping," Paige explained. "And it can count as a Capital offence if it ends in death. Although, I doubt it's going to end in death, right?" 

Jenni had turned pale but nodded. "Yes," she said. "It's not like we're going to kill him, is it? Although, Ingrid said we should ask for a ransom."

"Ransom?" Paige asked. "Why in the world would you ask for a ransom? People will then know you're the one who kidnapped him. What if your parents find out? They know where you guys are, they'll come back and stop you . . . Actually, maybe that wouldn't be a bad thing at all."

"Sometimes I think you want me to get arrested," Jenni muttered.

"You know I don't!" Paige exclaimed. "But look at what you're doing Jenni! It was okay when you watched all his movies, I watched them with you. It was fine when you started researching everything about him, I let you borrow my laptop. But when you started crying over him? I'll admit, I got worried. But I didn't complain. I bought you ice-cream and I got you through it. What I didn't expect for you to do was go to fucking Kentucky and kidnap him! And ask for ransom as well?! I thought you loved this guy!"

"I do!" Jenni protested. "All three of us do!" 

Paige rolled her eyes. If they loved him, they wouldn't have kidnapped him? Wouldn't they care about his career? His happiness? They were only thinking about themselves, not Josh himself. "Tumblr hates you," she simply stated.

Jenni ripped open a packet of pasta and dumped it into the saucepan, flicking the knob up to the highest setting. "Tumblr?" she asked slowly.

"Yes, tumblr. You only let me onto your page and you follow all those Josh sites, right?" Paige said. "Yeah, well, they have all been ripping on whoever has kidnapped him. They're coming up with swear words I haven't heard in years. They're all appealing! Anna Sophia Rob, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Sam Claflin, Jennifer Lawrence! They're all begging for people who know anything to step forward."

"I don't care about them," Jenni shrugged. 

"Jenni, please. It's been 48 hours, isn't that enough?" Paige begged. As she spoke, something on the t.v on the wall caught her eye. It was the news but Jenni had muted it. The headline was Update on the Hutcherson Kidnap. Had they found out that Jenni had done it, already? Heart pounding, Paige said, "Jenni, turn it up."
