It ALL started that one specific day on May 29 of 2010 where that job scout happened to be looking in the dentistry office, where my mom was a receptionist and my dad, the dentist.

And the reason i knew about everything that happened by detail was because I happened to walk in there from my usual school route I take to get home and heard the conversation that would change my life forever.

*Flashback*

I started walking out of the school's doors when i heard my name being shouted from somewhere in the school yard.

"Tori!! I've been looking for you all day! Where ya been?" my friend, Sophia said when she caught up to me.

"Well Ms.Smith's homework that she assigned was so confusing that I wanted to stay back and have her explain it better and well, for lunch I got lunch detention with Mr. Vance..again..and this time it wasn't even because I didn't do my homework! He said that i had been "disrupting" the class when he was teaching and well, yeah I got detention so all in all i've been pretty busy. So why didn't I see YOU at all today?" I let out a breath after my long reply.

I'm a rambler, or least I've been told by many people.

"Well i believe I told you that i was looking for YOU everywhere!"

"I know, I know. I'm just messing with you. Anyway, you feel like walking half way with me to the office?"

She looked like she was about to say something, but instead concluded with a nod and a smile. "Sure, why not? Its not like i don't do it any other time."

We headed off in the direction of the office and her house and then said our goodbyes at the corner two blocks away from the office.

I walked the rest of the way and walked inside the building with a couple smiles and waves from the other employees that worked with my parents.

I smiled back and turned to the door with a keypad on it and put in the pin. When I heard the successful beep, I turned the door knob and walked in, but stopped when I heard some voices behind my dad's office door.

"Hi, my name is James and I'm on the look out for good business owners that keep their business running healthily. This is your business right?"

"Sure is. Me and my wife own it. It's been passed down from my grandfather to his son and then down to me. May i ask, what is the reason you look for good businesses?" I hear my dads voice reply.

"Well I'm what most people call a business miracle."

"And why is that?" my mom asks.

" Well I'm the one who usually helps people get from the position they are in to a much higher one. What do you say. You in for the details?"

I can tell my parents are pondering over the opportunity thats being laid out to them because all the talking had seized.

"How much does it cost?" my mother finally speaks after about two minutes of silence.

"It depends on how high you want you business to be. I mean, you could only want to replenish your building and get better ratings so you get employees applying that have to get over the high bar you will set to get the best staff. Or, you could get moved to a bigger building or even buildings in some other towns, fire all old staff and start new technically."

"I like our staff very much so there will be no firing, but I do like the idea of bigger and more buildings. Could you list off some prices so we can see if this is all worth it or if its all just a scam?"

"Oh, trust me. Its no scam. i can tell you the way it would be in payments or i could tell you the complete estimation of how much you will spend on it in total. Which do you prefer?"

"The estimation." my parents say in unison.

" Your looking around seven to nine hundred thousand dollars. and thats with at least one more building doubled this size and with the help of me to lower that price down from over a million. But don't forget your going to get payed and talked a heck of a lot more when its all over with." I hear my mom take in a sharp breath.

Its gets silent again and i can tell this must be a very hard decision by how much time ticks by.

Finally, my dads voice speaks up and says those three words that could have been the dream of a low income person but a nightmare to me.

"We'll do it."

I ran from the door after hearing James say his farewells to my parents so that i didn't get caught for eavesdropping.

I learned two things that day.

One, that James guy seemed up to no good and two, my parents were being duped.
