Chapter 1

Starlitte Academy was one of the three school systems in Starlington, Washington. What made Starlitte Academy different from the rest was that, female and male students were separated. Girls on one side of the school and guys on the other. There are parts of the school where they are together though. The school is from preschool to high school, unlike it's competing school Starlington Private and it's sister school Melowic High School. Starlington Private was from preschool to college. Heck, it even had a daycare system for future students.

More than half of the population in Starlington is high school and college students. Some students came from all over the country to attend the three schools, this is not including the public system. This also makes a lot of the workers in stores and restaurants, high school students and college students.

This did not include one particular girl though. True, there is tons of girls and guys this doesn't includes. What makes this girl so special then? Well, you're about to find out.

Luna Jasper stared out the window of her third story classroom as her math teacher went on and on about his reviews on radical equations. Luna didn't need the extra review. In fact, she didn't even want to be here in that classroom. She'd rather be outside with the crisp autumn breeze and the changing leaves reading a book. Lunch was only in a few short moments, but she knew she wouldn't be able to do what she wished.

As Mr. Woods went on with his review, Luna's eyes drifted to the clock hanging above his head. Mr. Woods thought she was looking at him and actually paying attention to his lesson. He was very happy about that. Luna never payed attention in class and just gazed out the window. If you were able to get her attention, you were considered a god at the school. When Luna turned her gaze back to the window, disappointment passed through him. Must have been looking at the clock, he thought to himself.

The class felt as if it would go on forever, until finally, just finally, the bell rung signaling lunch time to all the of the student's pleasures.

“Now calm down girls. Let me tell you what your homework is for tonight, and then you can go run off to the courtyard to have lunch with your boyfriends.” Mr. Woods said. Luna didn't listen to the teacher as she stood up from her desk. Everyone turned to look at her.

Luna felt everyone's eyes on her. She didn't mind nor did she care. She walked out of the classroom. Mr. Woods didn't try to stop her. There was no point. He knew she would do the homework magically without being told or reminded. He also knew every answer would be correct.

Luna made her way into the hallway. Girls walked out of their respective classrooms and crowded the hallways in navy, black, white, silver and gray. The girls gossiped and laughed about who hooked up with who behind the courtyard. Luna didn't pay much attention to it. She didn't care honestly, unless she was ordered to get involved.

Luna always wondered how there could possibly be any gossip at this school, considering the girls and guys were separated. When she thought about it again, maybe because they were separated that there was so much gossip. There was always rumors about boys and girls skipping class to meet each other or, said, hook up. Luna wasn't one of these girls. She preferred being in the shadows of everything.

And that's just what she did.

She made it outside to the courtyard, where many boys and girls were lingering. She ignored them as she walked by. She was in search for a particular building.

It was an abandoned building that was once used for the teachers offices. It was no longer used because of a student incident, where the a student who was pissed with the teachers, tried to set it on fire. He was able to do so, but caught in the act. The building was put out but was no longer useable. They built a new building for the offices, but kept this one. No one knew when it would be torn down. In Luna's case, hopefully never.
