I hesitated on what I was going to do next. Then I silently reached back and pet Gabe's winds, something I hadn't done in a whole year. They were still as soft as I remembered them. I silently chuckled as he blushed and stood straighter.
"This is my cue to leave." Cas said, flashing out. I ignored him.
"Their still as soft as I remember..." I whispered.
"Yeah, just-more torn up..." He said, showing how they were raged, bent, broken, and missing feathers.
"want me to fix that? Ive gotten used to cleaning wings." I said.
"sure, but lets get home." He said, taking my hand and flashed us back to our room. I smiled as we sat on our bed and he extended a wing. I ran my finger from the tip to the base, mending and replacing the feathers as I did so. When I was done I hugged him from behind. He smiled and leaned against me.
"Im sorry I left..." I whispered, nuzzling his neck. I had missed him so much, and my heart was filled with being back with him.
"Its fine Kiddo." He said, using the nickname he called everyone. My wings appeared as I stayed hugging him.
"I love you Gabie." I muttered sleepily. I was worn out from diving, being brought back, and the happiness that flowed through me at having Gabe back. Gabe smiled and closed his eyes, and through the bond he fell asleep. I smiled and laid down beside him, wrapping the feathered wing around him before falling asleep too.
