SATURDAY

No alarm. I shut it off on the weekends. My eyes decided to be nice, and stay shut for another couple of minutes. My brain, on the other hand, wouldn't stop buzzing. I couldn't stop thinking about Thursday, the day Daniel didn't show up to work. I hadn't seen him since the day before.

And who the hell was that girl?

George hasn't talked to me since Thursday, but Max and Ian have stopped by several times. I've asked them why George hadn't called or texted me back, but they'd just shrug. I knew they had the answers to my question but they were holding back. For some reason.

I've also asked if one of them could drive me to his apartment, but they'd just pretend like they didn't hear. Their visits weren't long either, they'd come to say hello or bring by beer, just in case they wanted to all hang out at my place one day. Making sure I'd be stocked up on all their favorites. Ian was a little surprised to find my own collection of beers, and wine. I don't know why, but ever since the first night I drank, I've been a little attached to these beverages.

But of course, I'm not addicted. I'm not an alcoholic, I would never.

Anyway, Ian was supposed to stop by today, so I needed to clean up a little. Max was apparently busy today, Ian said he was picking someone up at the airport.

"A really close friend of ours, she's great, you're gonna love her." Ian had said yesterday over the phone.

A she. Another girl. Someone they've probably known for a while. Someone that I've probably temporarily replaced for them. Someone they'll easily ditch me for. I'll have to go back to only having Daniel as a friend, and acquaintances around the cities.

Well, Daniel isn't just a friend anymore.

Neither is George.

I sighed, and opened one eye, feeling the burning sensation of the dry eye being exposed to the oxygen contained in my dimly lit room. I began blinking rapidly to rid of the feeling, then forced myself, up and out of the bed. I made my way to the curtains, and pushed them out of the sunlights way, squinting when the bright light hit my eyes.

I made my way to the kitchen to grab a bagel, and a glass of orange juice, when I heard a knock at my door.

How the fuck..?

I closed the fridge door, headed towards the door, and pulled it open.

"Helloooo, (y/n)!" A happy Ian sang as he walked through my door.

"Hey Ia-"

"Last night was crazy! Can't believe you actually blacked out." He said, walking towards my couch, his back to me.

"What?"

"You don't remember any of the party last night? Even before the blackout?"

"What party?"

"It's okay, I don't remember either, because it never happened. I'm just messing with you." He said as he plopped down on my couch, and grabbed the remote that was lying on the ground, an inch away from his foot. He began flipping through the channels, the buzzing of the TV filling the quiet apartment.

"What are you doing here so early, Ian?" I asked, heading back towards the kitchen for my small breakfast.

"I had nothing to do, so I came by."

"Okay, but what're you doing up so early?" I called out from the kitchen, grabbing my bagel, and glass of juice, and walking back to the living room.
