"Lee-yum!" I yelled as I opened his front door. "We're going bowling! Stop studying!" I held onto the railing at the bottom of the stairs. I knew Liam was studying. We had a science or math test coming up soon in school. I’m not too sure what subject it is though, I’ll probably end up with a B minus average.

Liam was sitting in his bedroom, studying the digestive system. He wanted to be prepared, so he figured he should start studying two weeks before the test. "Lou! I don't wanna go!" He yelled, still seated leaning over his desk. He heard loud footsteps running up the stairs.

"Too bad! There's going to be girls there, and I invited that one girl you like," I said approaching Liam's bedroom. I wiggled my eyebrows at him, "You know, the curly haired one. The one with the lovely legs."

"Hey! Don't talk about Dani like that!" Liam frowned, turning around in his chair to face me.

I stared at Liam, "Why not? It's the truth. She has great legs and she's hot." I smirked, hoping to get a reaction out of Liam.

"She's more than hot... She's...beautiful." Liam sighed, imagining Danielle in his mind. Danielle was the girl who always had a smile on her face when she saw Liam. She was a very well-rounded girl, she was great at everything. She could dance, play ball, great at school, and had a musical side to her. Liam had the biggest crush on her. As Liam was picturing Danielle, I had made a makeshift slingshot out of elastics I found on his dresser. I stuck a piece of ripped paper in my mouth and formed a ball, I aimed the spitball at Liam's head and shot it. It got him in the middle of his forehead. "Louuuu, now I'm definitely not going." He frowned, pushing the spitball off his head.

"Come on, Harry's waiting out in the car with his mum. If you hurry up, you'll be able to catch a ride and you'll finally speak with Dani when we get to the alley." I spoke, knowing that Harry wouldn’t leave us behind. We had been working hard trying to get Liam and Danielle together. We first found out that Liam liked Danielle when he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her during our lunch break. He attended most of his classes with her and he became absolutely smitten.  I walked towards Liam's closet, pulled out a random shirt and threw it at his head.

Liam stood up sighing, I could tell he was mentally swearing at me, and peeled his T-shirt off. He pulled on the V-neck I chucked at his head. "Do I look better?" He questioned, walking towards the mirror trying to tame his hair.

"Yeah sure," I pulled on Liam’s tiny quiff, grabbing a jacket on the way out. I tugged Liam down the stairs, threw his jacket at him and pulled him out the door.

"Lou, you can let me go now..." Liam gripped my hand, pulling it out of his hair. "Hey Harold." Liam spoke and nodded at Harry's mother as they both entered the vehicle.

"My name's not Harold, dumbass." Harry leaned over the console and punched Liam's arm.

"Hey! Be good or else you'll have to walk to the bowling alley." Anne, Harry's mum, said while pulling Harry's arm back.

"Sorry, mum." We all replied back. We had learned once one of us got into trouble, it was easier for all of us to apologize instead of not speaking.

We drove in silence for a couple of minutes, until Harry reached over and turned the radio on. Needle in the Dark by Passenger played quietly as they drove through town.

       My hands they are empty

       But they are clean

       I'm poor but I'm healthy

       I'm halfway between

       The gutter and the skyline
